@@user-xr3ry9wu4y What do you mean? Yes, lots of weight low in the head lowers CG and raises launch, but that isn't the point. The point is that opening the face and hitting a big cut makes it easy to raise launch way more, so if you ACTUALLY want to see how much higher these fairway woods can fly, you would eliminate that variable and make them hit straight balls. But then the reality would be that a fairway wood with lower CG will only launch the ball a *little* higher, and that isn't the video that Taylormade wants to put out. They want to show the ball going WAY higher, and they are ok with fudging that more than a bit by allowing the pros to do things to launch the ball super high that have nothing to do with the design of the club. They could have done this same video and gotten the exact same results with an R7 fairway wood from 2006.

​@@bh4872 long irons = easier to hold greens if the ball is coming from a higher angle. lots of ballspeed and low spin so the wind doesnt affect the ball as much, thus a highball can be utilized. short irons = lots of spin created so higher landing angle isnt needed to hold greens. less ball speed and more spin which means the ball is influenced more by the wind, which means keeping it under the wind is ideal for hitting your actual target. keeping the ball lower with short clubs = more control. long irons high, short irons low.

I had no idea he was so secluded either. I mean, I watched him slash throats in his prime but I had no idea he was anti social bc now he is all buddy buddy. But, I suppose that just comes with age. I've been there myself. I was a hell of a rugby player (scholarship, 2 national titles, handful of awards) and I used to just fuck people up and never really cared for the new people. Then as I became a veteran, mentoring the younger guys became just as much or even more fun. I'd played 10 years, but teaching somebody some technique on their 10th day became fun. So, I think it's just a product of older tiger. That or possibly xanax.
