Some things I missed: 1.) Carole threatened to her kill husband and he filed a restraining order before he disappeared. 2.) The “Woman who had her arm bitten off” is named Saff, is transgender and identifies with male pronouns 3.) One of Joe’s husbands Travis Maldonado died by accidental suicide 4.) James Garretson riding a jet ski 5.) The extent of Joe's animal abuse was not covered in the Netflix documentary 6.) Bhagavan means god

Arianna ?¿ tl;dr Joe and Carol are business rivals, and likely sell some of these animals illegally. Everyone affiliated with this zoo appears to be either insane or involved with some kind of illegal activity. Joe wanted Carol dead, allegedly tried to make it happen, and then his staff testified against him. She killed her husband for the money. The real victims here are the poor animals. In the first episode, someone mentioned finding tiger bodies buried outside who appeared to have been shot, and there was another allegation of healthy tiger cubs being gassed (not by Joe) :(

The biggest takeaway I have from Tiger King is that you should never underestimate the power of public relations. Call your zoo a zoo and you’re abusing the animals; call it a “rescue” and you’re saving them. Have your employees work long hours for low pay and you’re taking advantage of them; have them work for nothing and you’re giving them an opportunity... oh, and avoid conspiracy to commit murder.
@thethompsta8934
@thethompsta8934 4 жыл бұрын
Except for the fact that Joes zoo abused and killed his tigers, whereas Antle killed his cubs after they were past their cub stage. Carole’s zoo is actually the most innocent place with no allegations of animal abuse (except for the murder of her husband)

Stop exploiting wild animals!!!! They say they're helping animals but in reality they're helping themselves. Worst when they're getting all this publicity. Shame on them.
@usffan5775
@usffan5775 4 жыл бұрын
Can you define exploiting animals? The definition of exploit is to get a benefit from. But that makes no sense, because getting a benefit from an animal doesnt mean at the animals loss. Animals in captivity live much longer, healthier lives with access to mates. Your alternative may lead to an extinction of tigers altogether. Is the extinction of tigers more moral? I doubt you mean the words you've said because it doesnt seem thought through. I think what you're trying to say is "people should be good"

Bhagawan in Hinduism literally means 'GOD', not "the blessed one", unless you believe there is one and only one God and his name is allahuChrist, then you are deliberately mistranslating the Hindu term for God. Beside this, your synopsis is right on target, one of the best I have seen on KZbin, good video.

THANK YOU! that has been irritating me since I watched it. And it’s a new meaning when used correctly. Kevin ‘Doc’ Antle changed his name to God...that’s what he believes himself to be and DEFINITELY what his wives believe he is. Just another charlatan using Hinduism to gain profit and sex.

No one here will listen probably, but Big Cat Rescue is a designated sanctuary, not a zoo. The animals at the sanctuary have been surrendered by people that can no longer care for them. The alternative for these animals is euthanasia. They do provide tours for *small groups* of people to a *limited number* of enclosures. The smallest permanent enclosure they have is 1200+ sqft. Unless you've been to Big Cat Rescue, you may be tempted to think that they're as bad as the rest, but that's not the case. However, Carole Baskin is definitely guilty of fashion crimes and personal jury is still out on the murder of her husband. But, she's not abusing big cats, so... that's something.

Another note is that their channel has a long documented history of their cats and their origin. Side from that they've used their funds for surgeries, enrichment items, etc. Their cage sizes range from 1200 square feet to 2.5 arches for their largest cats. I think what separates BCR the most from everyone else is that they do not breed or exploit cubs. Thinking about it now I wished Carole went after Joe's cats instead of his assets 🤔

@@2013RULThe cages aren't well manicured because most animals prefer natural vegetation, if that's what you're referring to. Also, on the note of not paying the staff, that's a 100% fair criticism and if that's what everyone was complaining about, I would say have at it. She should pay the volunteers more than a stipend.

@@AriCagan If I remember correctly, before BCR she had some kind of wildcat outfit where there was cub/kitten petting or some kind of guest contact. She eventually realized the harm in it, she said, and stopped the breeding, claiming her husband wanted it to continue. But when he'd be out of town, she says she would get the cats spayed. Haven't watched TK (mostly because I don't have Netflix atm), only go by synopses and evidence/data/news articles, but honestly the only beings I hurt for or feel sorry for in this whole ordeal are the animals, and no one else.

Adum Sundler Truth. She stopped after her ex husband's "disappearance." It's good that she actively goes after the big cat breeders but the whole husband thing kind of kills it for me. (It's also why those same guys say she's "trying to have all the cats" (because she is the most vocal about it) it's manipulative. They *know* if that act is passed, they'd have to kiss all their money goodbye.)
