UPDATE : Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve (RVTR) in Bundi district of Rajasthan is the 52nd and latest Tiger reserve of India and fourth tiger reserve of Rajasthan it can house 35 tigers.

Update of 2023: 3 tiger reserve are added 52nd is Rajasthan's Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary 53rd is Guru Ghasidas National Park and Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary(Chhattisgarh) 54th is Veerangana Durgavati 54th Tiger Reserve(MP) Note: With the addition of new reserve, MP become the highest tiger reserve in India.. As of 30th November 2023, Total 54 Tiger Reserve are there. Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve is the 54th Tiger Reserve In India and it is the largest tiger reserve in india (in area) which is being made by combining - Noradehi Tiger Reserve and Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve.

There are a total of 52 Tiger reserves in India ( Yes now the number is 52 with the latest addition of Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve (RVTR) in Bundi district of Rajasthan ) as of 2021. According to the latest Tiger Census of 2018-19 conducted in 20 states across India, 2967 Tiger live in India.

The Ratapani Tiger Reserve, located in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh,[2] in the Vindhya Range. It has been a wildlife sanctuary since 1976. As of March 2013, in-principle approval by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has been granted for upgrading it to the status of the tiger reserve.
