The more and more I watch Sean coach, the more I appreciate him. Im a believer in the prosdr as well. Simple yet very well made that can help in a variety of ways. Lastly- seeing Micah in this light makes me a bigger fan. Micah- keep being humble and eager to learn like you did in this video. It was one of the realest videos i have seen you in. I think this is an amazing video!! I truly appreciate the way Mr. Foley is able to articulate what he’s looking for his player’s to think and feel and try. I also appreciate that he asked for Mr. Morris’ input and feedback and then pivoted as needed until Mr. Morris felt and saw the improvement he was look for. Great content Mr. Morris!!

The amount of good information and nuggets of stuff that shows you how traditional golf instruction was flawed in this video is huge. The funniest part is that people in comments are complaining it’s too complex and too long. It’s an hour long lesson to a player who can understand the technical explanations. It’s not for average KZbin golfer bro. Hand path, wrist angles, etc all clearly explained and demonstrated. Most people will never get a lesson this detailed in their life and they’re complaining here instead. Actually hilarious. It’s like giving someone an encyclopedia to digest for a year and they want cliff notes bro.

This and the one with GH😊 It's funny how a natural drawer of the ball changes to a flippy chip shot that's outside to in and full of inconsistency 👀🤷‍♂️ I actually had a couple shots on Saturday with 8 iron I had to keep under branches that hit the green and stopped dead. I was scratching my head bewildered 😂😂 They felt like rockets off the face and thought both were gonski over the back of green

This is such a great insight into how to think and how to get better fundamentally. As a golfer with interest but limited understanding of mechanics in golf this is grade A, and really nice to see the legendary coach and Micah lay out basics. Sean is clearly a guy who loves to teach and its so fun to get his perspective as someone who grew up in the Tiger era wondering about what kind of stuff happened in the background. Awesome stuff!!

Foley watched Micah's videos. he knows he overthinks things, so he gave Micah a lot to think about whereas Grant understands swing mechanics so they both spoke the same language so Grant's lesson was more about doing than why to do it.

He admits preferences and also knows there are lots of ways to do “it”. Foley haters are 20hdcp clowns. Knowledge and understanding is power and that’s what Sean’s doing. I’m sure he could just tell Micah what to do and he’d do it, but for Micah to know WHAT he’s doing and WHY is so much more important. He’s massively grown in information and teaching since his Tiger days, and there’s a reason he coaches lots of successful guys, and guys like Chris Como and David Woods are doing the same thing. To be a professional, you need to understand the theory and why. Y’all just think 2 TikTok minute swing tips are gonna fix your slice lmao. When watching Dan Grieve discuss the same subject it’s night and day difference with this guy. He makes it simple, with key points as takeaways, he lets the student try it and then tweaks. Foley yaps for 30 mins lets the guy hit one shot then takes the club off him and yaps some more. He is over teaching and making it more complex. Make it simple, make it clear and concise. This, when you are struggling will just confuse golfers more. Might be different when teaching tour pros, but watching this will not help the viewers, and wouldn’t help many golfers at all, even if playing at a decent level, and I’d bet, Micah walks away taking little from it.

Coincidence that you and Grant both visit Foley recently? Of course not. This is intentional. And there must be a corporate interest making it happen (Taylor Made?). Keep this in mind folks, once a content creator reaches a critical mass of subscribers, networks of corporate power swoop in and take over. Subsequently, the channel losses all authenticity and sincerity. We are watching it happen in real time with many of these KZbin golf ‘influencers’. Sigh. All of the organic sensibility disappearing with each new upload.

Hi Tig.... I'm a golf pro/coach up here in Canada. I've seen your lessons with a few different coaches now, and they have all been good. This one for your short game is also good... but what you need the most is ACCURACY. Wouldn't you like to hit the ball dead straight at your target all the time? You can easily learn to do it. It is not difficult to learn. It just isn't taught. Most coaches coach players to hit a ball with curve. I don't...I coach players to hit the ball dead straight...every time. If you would like to know more, let me know, and we can connect....I wager I could sort you out with a phone call. Cheers.

@rowdyroddy519 3 ай бұрын
Sure @@Arkan-qm3kc It mostly involves this basic principle... * Whenever the clubshaft is level to the ground.. it should also be parallel to your target line. * If your grip and alignment are good, ....and as you swing, you get those alignments correct, it will produce an on plane swing ... and that plane is aligned with your target line, producing a zero'd club path which will then produce a straight ball flight, that goes to your target. It works with all types of different swing styles, and body types, because it focuses on working the tool (golfclub) properly first, ...then the body adapts to that intention. As your body motion gets better as your swing evolves.. the working of the tool(golf club) remains a constant. That is the most important thing.. working the club correctly. Cheers.
@rowdyroddy519

Seems to me like a lecture at Yappers University, he’s clearly really knowledgeable but it was all scatter brained and hard to follow, Was this a one time lesson so he was trying to fit everything into one session? Very possible, I think you should be able to explain something to a 3 year old and have them understand it, this was a poor job of that. I wonder why Micah doesnt work with one coach for a prolonged period of time. Interested to hear others thoughts 💭 Update: started getting better towards 35min when Micah started actually hitting balls, again not my favourite teaching style but if Micah felt he took something away from this, that’s all that matters Update 2: watched Grants video, much better display of coaching + student relationship, good lessons too, easier to follow

You are right. I just figured this out after countless failures. Now everything happens naturally. If I have a consistent grip that in my mind matches my right hand to the clubface, then I just need to get my right hand to the ball. My brain automatically figures out the transition, the weight shift, and finally separating my hips from my shoulders. I guess some people are pullers, and some are throwers but pulling doesn't work for me. The only thing my brain can accomplish left handed is catching a baseball.

The golf swing IS and always will be a throwing motion more than a pulling motion. Me personally was teach by all instructors to feel it in my left hand and left side. They should be in prison. Use your right side, right shoulder, right hand, right hip all going together and forget about opening up because it will happen automatically. Sr. You’re smart person for discerning misinformation. I had to learn all aspects of this shit because influencers and instructors where teaching crap and making things more difficult. Now, you can enjoy the game. If you can’t explain in a few words what you’re trying to teach you don’t understand completely. Now, more power to you sr. Merry Christmas. Remember everything with the right hand. From putting to swinging. Enjoy this game for life.

Even with that, there will still be mistakes, your swing will change without you wanting or trying to change it. One day it’s there the next day it’s lost then the next day it’s partly back. Where did he say that? Have a better look at the exact title! And listen carefully to all the wise words from Sean throughout this session. All that will determine the progress of any golfer that wants to improve.

@@MrEric0822 "... with this drill", so it is more about the drill in this video. Whether that results in a consistent improvement on the course, what you are probably referring at, is next. That depends on many factors of which some are pointed out by Sean in the vide. Simply said if that wouldn't be the case we would probably all be successful pro's. For sure Micah is more a "feel" type of player which makes him less consistent when the mental aspect takes over. So I guess it all depends on how comfortable he will feel with these changes whether it will help his game in the long run.

@@peterhawthorne1596 That’s a bunch of what-ifs. The title of the video said his short game was fixed. Period. Not “it might be fixed.” Spoiler alert: It ain’t fixed.

Micah should run from this guy as fast as he can. A combination of Micah's mental game and Sean's teaching style will be toxic to his game.

i know i am wrong as this bloke has worked with the best but boy does he set off my bullshit meter lol so many things he seems to say are contradictory and confusing with lots of affirmative prompts because people naturally agree when they dont understand something so as not to feel stupid , especially when the person doing it is an authority figure or seen as one .

@@TickleNation these numbers are important but not important within first 8 mins . i understand there may be a deeper meaning to this but as i say in my op i understand i am more likely to be wrong because this bloke knows a hell of a lot more than i do and has worked in the past with great players , i mean no offence . i just found his coaching style very confusing and to me contradictory probably because of my own lack of knowledge
