The amount of good information and nuggets of stuff that shows you how traditional golf instruction was flawed in this video is huge. The funniest part is that people in comments are complaining it’s too complex and too long. It’s an hour long lesson to a player who can understand the technical explanations. It’s not for average KZbin golfer bro. Hand path, wrist angles, etc all clearly explained and demonstrated. Most people will never get a lesson this detailed in their life and they’re complaining here instead. Actually hilarious. It’s like giving someone an encyclopedia to digest for a year and they want cliff notes bro.

When watching Dan Grieve discuss the same subject it’s night and day difference with this guy. He makes it simple, with key points as takeaways, he lets the student try it and then tweaks. Foley yaps for 30 mins lets the guy hit one shot then takes the club off him and yaps some more. He is over teaching and making it more complex. Make it simple, make it clear and concise. This, when you are struggling will just confuse golfers more. Might be different when teaching tour pros, but watching this will not help the viewers, and wouldn’t help many golfers at all, even if playing at a decent level, and I’d bet, Micah walks away taking little from it.

Hi Tig.... I'm a golf pro/coach up here in Canada. I've seen your lessons with a few different coaches now, and they have all been good. This one for your short game is also good... but what you need the most is ACCURACY. Wouldn't you like to hit the ball dead straight at your target all the time? You can easily learn to do it. It is not difficult to learn. It just isn't taught. Most coaches coach players to hit a ball with curve. I don't...I coach players to hit the ball dead straight...every time. If you would like to know more, let me know, and we can connect....I wager I could sort you out with a phone call. Cheers.

How about a lesson for us mortals lol. I’m down
@rowdyroddy5193 ай бұрын
Sure @@Arkan-qm3kc It mostly involves this basic principle... * Whenever the clubshaft is level to the ground.. it should also be parallel to your target line. * If your grip and alignment are good, ....and as you swing, you get those alignments correct, it will produce an on plane swing ... and that plane is aligned with your target line, producing a zero'd club path which will then produce a straight ball flight, that goes to your target. It works with all types of different swing styles, and body types, because it focuses on working the tool (golfclub) properly first, ...then the body adapts to that intention. As your body motion gets better as your swing evolves.. the working of the tool(golf club) remains a constant. That is the most important thing.. working the club correctly. Cheers.

That level parallel happens 5 times.. ( if your club gets to level parallel at top of backswing) or 4 times if your backswing is shorter.

Seems to me like a lecture at Yappers University, he’s clearly really knowledgeable but it was all scatter brained and hard to follow, Was this a one time lesson so he was trying to fit everything into one session? Very possible, I think you should be able to explain something to a 3 year old and have them understand it, this was a poor job of that. I wonder why Micah doesnt work with one coach for a prolonged period of time. Interested to hear others thoughts 💭 Update: started getting better towards 35min when Micah started actually hitting balls, again not my favourite teaching style but if Micah felt he took something away from this, that’s all that matters Update 2: watched Grants video, much better display of coaching + student relationship, good lessons too, easier to follow

You are right. I just figured this out after countless failures. Now everything happens naturally. If I have a consistent grip that in my mind matches my right hand to the clubface, then I just need to get my right hand to the ball. My brain automatically figures out the transition, the weight shift, and finally separating my hips from my shoulders. I guess some people are pullers, and some are throwers but pulling doesn't work for me. The only thing my brain can accomplish left handed is catching a baseball.
@WbulzaXXIII2 ай бұрын
The golf swing IS and always will be a throwing motion more than a pulling motion. Me personally was teach by all instructors to feel it in my left hand and left side. They should be in prison. Use your right side, right shoulder, right hand, right hip all going together and forget about opening up because it will happen automatically. Sr. You’re smart person for discerning misinformation. I had to learn all aspects of this shit because influencers and instructors where teaching crap and making things more difficult. Now, you can enjoy the game. If you can’t explain in a few words what you’re trying to teach you don’t understand completely. Now, more power to you sr. Merry Christmas. Remember everything with the right hand. From putting to swinging. Enjoy this game for life.
