Just for perspective, if I recall correctly, at his peak, Tiger was winning 39% of the tournaments he entered. That is an astounding figure. This is illustrated when you realize that at the same time, the second most winning player, Phil MIckelson, was winning 9% of the tournaments he entered.

Tiger should have this video on loop. His swing looks absolutely on point. Totally in control. That shot at 1:26 was so pure. Only last two holes he had driving trouble. All others he hit from fairway.

He will always be my favorite. I started playing golf at age 43; 3 years ago. I was about to give it up quickly as I found out it was very, very difficult to learn especially for someone my age that never picked up a golf club in his life before. I bought Tiger's "How I Play Golf". I credit that book with helping me more than golf lessons or practice sessions at the range (read it many times over). His understanding of the game mechanics and fundamentals is impressive to say the least. Now, I started reading "Golf My Way" by Jack Nicklaus, Tiger's idol. It's even better than Tiger's.

The most telling factor in the completion of Tigers swing change will be the mastery of distance control he showed after the last 2 swing changes of 1998-9 and 2003-4 After both of those major changes it took him 18-30 months to regain the control.... he won the majority of majors in the periods after that He has been hindered by injury this time and the distance control has been delayed I think he will win the USPGA this year...the course suits him with his greater control off the tee.

He has always said saving par is the key to winning...and that long par save on the 18th was a great example of that. He wont only smash Sam Sneads incredible record of 82 PGA wins. He wilk become the first and only player to break the 100 barrier in PGA wins by the time he hangs up his golf clubs. Not really obsessed any just a big fan. I am from the Greater LA Metro area and Tiger grew up down the freeway in Cypress. He is my team like the Lakers, Kings, Dodgers etc... It is ok to be a fan and a homer. It is not okay in my book to try to drag others down when it comes to issues that do not concern you. We have no idea what his home life was like before the scandal broke and as far as I know Elin and Tiger have made some kind of peace and are co-parenting. That's enough for me.

It's amazing how well he played AFTER the Thanksgiving Day meltdown. I mean he never won another major (yet) but he won a bunch of tour events and was golfer of the year a couple of times. Astounding. And now, he is once again a solid PGA Tour Pro with as good of a chance as anyone each and every week. Not dominating, but damn good with big time clubhead speed.

well not really. most of tigers wedge shots he comes through with the clubface open. but on that particular swing he rotated over the ball and thus produced less spin. you can also see that particular shot landed with draw spin whereas most of his wedges land with cut spin.
