1 and 2 had pretty much a "happier" ending, while World at War had the same ending but made it bittersweet. The allies won but at the cost of millions of people. The desperation of the jungle combat in the Pacific campaign and brutality of the eastern front for the Soviet campaign really stands out. Throughout the game, you lose many of your comrades and even at the very end of the game, before the ending with the Nazis and Japanese finally being toppled, you lose one of your closest allies you spent the whole game with. It shows the cost of war and the cost of victory. Vangaurd is just trash in every way lol. Not just the gameplay but also the theme, story, historical accuracy, etc. are all god awful. I'm not saying WAW was realistic but the tone of the game is exactly how all war games should strive to have, not to mention being far more historically accurate

The original one's campaign depicted the guns faction correctly. E.g. No Germany soldier uses mosin or the US soldier uses an MP40. Vanguard just supplied the Japanese with STG44 and MG42 Wtf?

The Japanese using German weapons is far from the worst. You can find AS44s in some levels. The AS44 was a prototype that heavily influenced Mikhail Kalashnikov’s assault rifle design. They have essentially put an AK (not a true AK but close) in a WW2 campaign. Even worse, you can find it on enemy soldiers. The Soviets would’ve kept any experimental prototype in Moscow, or another major city, far from the frontlines.

Maybe because I'm runnig the game on 1080p and doesn't have to stretch it to fit widescreen like most people seem to do in videos but I've also done other tweaks like I mentioned with the Nvidia control panel like setting Anistropic to 16x and 4x Antialiasing along with a bit of image sharpening
