The "Experimental" with burst fire has to be one of the most interesting primaries in BF1. WHY, Battlefield 1918?

I think the issue with BF1918 relies on the fact that the further you go back with weapon animation in games, the harder it was to do so. The game was probably done before keyframe weapon animation was very prominent, and so creating custom animations would probably be significantly more difficult than it is now.

Overshadowed as hell by handguns like the Luger, C96, and 1911. Still a cool and interesting historical piece of military hardware though.

Possibly the best stripper clip loading pistol design ever made. It chambered a beefy 9x23mm, was almost 1911 simple, and was just as reliable. Nothing wrong on the C96, but that thing was a nightmare to field strip in the field.

In BF1918, Steyr M12 have detachable magazine rather than fixed magazine

That’s because the creators are limited by the engine when modding in BF1942, as far as I’m aware you can’t create custom animations in BF1942s engine, unlike BF2 engine/ modding tool kit which allowed users to create custom animations.

You forgot about the Call of Duty: WWII. There's a reskin for Colt M1911. I know it's a M1911, but still, I think reskin counts too.

Yes, e.g. is the Hellriegel 1915. Despite never been put into service, this gun somehow became popular in BF1 and the design is unique, it has a water-cooled jacket and a belt-fed drum mag (not attachable) making it a mix of a support weapon and an SMG

Yeah. They make some funky, yet practical, weapons. Like their weird looking shaped pistols that feeds stripper clip, the comically large sized revolver with 8 shots, straight-pull bolt action rifles, an upside down machine gun, and nutsack shaped granades.

But there is only one thing you need to know when you have one of the guns, ammunition (9x23mm Steyr) for it is scarce, but good news is you can rechamber it with the good ol' 9mm Para.
