I would have liked to see a sweep but Cleveland’s been on fire this year. Between Kwan and Ramirez and many others, Cleveland has been a solid team.

right now Colt Keith is a bad second baseman. Not terrible, but clearly bad. However, it is worth the risk to keep him there the rest of this season, have him work with Trammell and maybe call in Whitaker in spring training and see how he is say, half way through 2025. It is worth the extra time. A second baseman with his bat is WAY more useful to a team than if he were moved to first or the outfield. When Yogi Berra was a rookie he played both catcher and outfield. He was an ok outfielder and a terrible catcher. Then the Yankees fired Bucky Harris and hired Stengel, who brought in Bill Dickey to work with Yogi, who learned to catch and went to the Hall of Fame while the Yankees won all the time. His bat was good for an outfielder, 25-30 homer, .285 or so, but Hall of Fame quality. and very rare for a catcher. This got an extra plus bat in the lineup as it is way easier to find an outfielder with this production than a catcher.. It looks to me that Keith could be a Rizzo or better as first baseman. But if he can be just OK at second he could become a Jeff Kent and get another plus bat in the lineup. That is why it is worth seeing if he can rise to the level of mediocrity at second. He seems to lack that first step quickness and also quickness in his hands, but hey, Ripken was not a ballet dancer at SS, either. He learned to position hitters and compensate. Let's give him another spring training of infield school and another 120 games or so.

I don't know what Sweet Lou is up to these days. But he could certainly teach Colt how to properly play second base.

@@user-ig1tc7gw4f Lou has not be in organized baseball since he retired. He is also an extremely shy and introverted, though a very nice man. Trammel, however, has been a coach and a manager and is still on the Tigers' payroll. I'm sure he has worked with Colt and will continue. The thing is, next spring training Colt will have a year of big league experience under his belt and will be able to comprehend what he is being taught better, and better able to make changes, Then we will all see if what Colt lacks at second is experience and he will get obviously better, or we will all see that he lacks the physical skills. Doesn't mean he can't be great somewhere else, but we can quit starting a linebacker at defensive back.

@@willyonish2650 I agree with your comment. Until he injured his shoulder it looked like he might be their third baseman. It is probably best for him to move over to first . Perhaps during the off-season, infield instructors will work with him to see how he can make the transistion Ray

The Fed spent all of last year warning about negative outcomes, and we took them seriously. To our surprise, productivity soared to 2.6%, surpassing the expected growth potential of 1.8%. The workers performed exceptionally well. Perhaps we don't need the Fed as much as we thought.

Yes, they would prefer increased productivity because it enables the economy to grow more quickly without causing inflation, all while keeping costs the same.

My wife has hated Colt Keith's guts ever since the Badoo collision because she thought that it was rude of him to take out Badoo and not apologize. I told her that's just how baseball players act and didn't think there was any ill-will on either side there and we joke about it. But then last night it almost looks like he tried his hardest to do the same thing to Perez and had this look on his face like Parez (the outfielder calling him off) was in his way (the 2nd baseman with a far worse angle). I'm beginning to think my wife is right about some kind of strange behavior there.

Nah they are both inexperienced players. I couldn't tell if Perez called him off as he didn't think anyone else would have been in his way. Keith should get moved to first base and they should trade Torkelson. He just doesn't have it anymore. He doesn't want to change his approach and he is a lousy first baseman

It's a case where you tell keith, informally, do you want to play outfield? Seriously, it is something that should have been addressed with both players because collisions are a lack of communication.

Again, the DEFINITION of "astronomically" is "extremely LARGE." Nothing is "astronomically small." It is exactly like saying "gigantically small." Something can be "microscopically small," or extremely or vanishiingly, but.....not......astronomically small.

They won't trade Skubal but will likely trade Flaherty unless they don't believe they will get what they want. In which case they will make Flaherty a qualifying offer and if he refuses it, then they will get a compensation pick which would be better than what they were offered. Dodgers seem interested though..
