Kev quick reminder never say "I hope nothing comes around a corner", as nearly 100% garuntee after you say it!! long vehicles, car drivers parking, another vehicle all a bad mix. looks like farmer Giles was a bit more than tipsy when doing the road for your first collection!!

i bought myself the top of the range tomtom with the flashing direction signs on it, i drove at night from wool across to the village of blandford, the flashing directions killed my night vision the following day i drove up to cerne and across the 37, it didn't show the ford. the next day i sent it back and have reverted to garmin / waze

I don't know how I feel about Trent's. I fully understand that some vehicles just aren't worth repairing. But on the other hand, I feel that companies like Trent's have contributed to the end of the payday car market. It's easier for people to get these companies to pick up a car that is not worth much, rather than selling them to people who can't afford to pay £1,000 or more on a car. 28 of the 33 cars I have owned have been payday cars (22 of them cost less than £500). They just don't exist anymore. Especially in my area in Cornwall. Just to be clear, I do not blame Trent's (or similar companies) in its entirety for the collapse of the payday car market. The scrappage schemes did most of the damage. And I appreciate the work Trent's do. I myself have sold three cars to them that were definitely unrepairable, and I have bought parts for other cars from them. (And I have carried many pallets with car parts on them from Trent's, on my night trunk for a pallet network)

My personal view on it all is this; if it takes one car to save another 10 from the scrapyard then it is worthwhile. Those 10 that are saved could end up being cheapo cars for people. Okay, it might only be one that trickles down but that's still one more affordable car for someone. It is sad watching some of Kev's videos and seeing some seemingly nice motors going for scrap but sometimes they genuinely are best off going that way. I have also sent a few off to Trent's which I wouldn't want people to drive, often wonder what parts were taken off to save something else. As for finding cheapo cars, Cornwall certainly isn't the best place for them. I've often found them to be overpriced even when they've been at the bottom end of the market. There's an auction place in Exeter (If a bit of travelling is okay) which has banger's going through once a month. Open to all buyers and reasonable fee's. The used car market is changing every week at the moment, prices are falling on cars of all value's (not just the fancy stuff or £5K+), only a matter of time before some of the cheaper cars come into that realm on the regular.

TomTom was the satnav to have back in the day however my last car had factory nav mapped by TomTom and it was absolutely shite.
