I've ridden up and down the south side of the pass. It's very nice. Though I have to imagine there are other roads in Vietnam that I'd enjoy more.

Hahaha. It is actually down to the editing, where I am blinking between sentences, but those get cut. It isn't easy making videos, and these are all techniques I'm playing with.

Hai Van seems a bit overrated to me, but then it could just be that I've been spoiled by the scenic riches of California. That said, I love the views of Danang and Danang Bay on the way south.

Hai Van is Over Rated, and it bothers me that this road is what travelers think is "Vietnam". It is not even close to being the best road. The reason for its fame is more to do with its accessibility, rather than its beauty.
