Small bikes rock 😃 ! Bigger the CC more fuel more weight! If you a 90kg plus I agree a bigger bike might be useful! For us under 90 kg i allways prefer a lighter bike! Asia not Australia with hundreds of kilometres of nothing.....👍👍👍👍👍

THE BEST WAY to see if a vehicle, in the opposite direction to you, is TURNING - LOOK AT THE FRONT WHEELS.

ALWAYS LONG YHESE INSTANT KNOW NOTHINGS. I have driven/rode cars, motorcycles & by cycles. I have been in one accident in 32 years in VN - when a car hit me when l was crossing on a pedestrian crossing. My secret? Exploit the VNese love of paintwork. They hate scratches. So my two wheel vehicles have stainless steel with small flags on them - stops any car. I also have bright red truck lights on my 4-wheel & motorcycles. VERY effective.

the simple answer is mud or make sure your license plate is covered with a COVID protection mask :)

Just point your license plate downwards slightly so it cant be seen from above. All the auto speed cams are mounted on high pole. I have some of these fines but never paid them nothing really happens! but some ppl cant sell their bikes so its very inconsistent

I rode 450km from Phong Nha to Ninh Binh in one day last summer (on a bike from Tigit), since there was nothing along the way that felt worth stopping for. Took me 9 hours, of which 8 were spent riding. 4 hour ride, one hour break, another 4 hours. Wouldn't necessarily recommend, especially for inexperienced riders, but it's doable. With the amount of homestays, it's easy to just ride until you don't want to anymore, whether that's after 3 hours or 8, and it's also a much nicer way of traveling in my opinion
@user-sw2lv3zp6o13 күн бұрын
Interesting video. Ridiculous that it takes so long to be processed, then the fine can only be paid in the specific area the offence took place in. Best of luck with all this, Tigit. Nick

Do you know what happens when someone gets fined and the blue card is still registered to someone else (i.e. 99% of expats)?
@Tigitmotorbikes13 күн бұрын
That is a fun one and is part of why Vietnamese now take transferring papers so seriously. The motorbike's owner, on paper, will get sent the fine, and I think this has become a bit of a problem.

Ah classic Vietnam. Have to do everything in a very specific location. My wife just had to go back to her hometown just to renew her passport. It's ridiculous. Same for a wedding licence. Same if she wants to sponsor my visa. It's like the whole system was created by people who've never left a single small town their whole life (which to be fair, it probably was).
@Tigitmotorbikes13 күн бұрын
We had to buy a house in Ho Chi Minh just to get around all the travel my wife had to do to her hometown for paperwork. She even managed to mess it up at some point-I am not sure the exact details-but she basically de-registered herself from her hometown and couldn't re-register herself in Saigon, meaning she temporarily belonged to no province. No province then meant she didn't exist-she became a ghost from the Vietnam paperwork perspective. Took a very long time to fix!

Really good vids you"ve done concerning all relevant topics about bikes, hotels, routes and riding techniques in the city traffic! The info in them is concise, clear and priceless, and the surety you put into the commentary is so reassuring and confidence building. Compared to other vlogs which are very wishy washy with plenty commentary but saying nowt! (Say in a Geordie accent...) We"ve not been yet, looking at next year April time. Not looking at a bike tour, but you never know, our paths might cross for a bike here and there... Cheers, Derek.

If I only would see this video 3 months ago I rented an automatic ELECTRIC bike. It is even faster then the new automatic ones I wiskey throlled and smashed a video, cut my back real deep and all costed me 1500 USD, no insurance coverage of course And also a month to recover Obviously with an semi-automatic I wouldn't even do 10% of the damages.

opinion on vespas?
@Tigitmotorbikes19 күн бұрын
I don't really know anything about scooters. To me they are just a set of wheels to get from A to B. Nothing interesting in this market. However, I have driven a few modern Vespas and the build quality and ride felt cheap to me. Which is the opposite of what a luxury brand should feel like. Personally, I think it is just marketing, like Apple, or Gucci, Prada or any other handbag-based/image-based brand :) You are asking the wrong guy, though!

Wonder what part on VN does she live in? Honda are easy to steal - master keys are easy to buy. ME? I use a heavy duty 0.5CM chain with 3 locks. After threading the chain through the wheels and frame, lock the chain around each wheel and the other around the frame.
@Tigitmotorbikes24 күн бұрын
In Vietnam the police will just put your bike in a truck if it is in the wrong place. You shouldn't need a lock here. Not sure you watched the video :)
@daklakdigital369124 күн бұрын
@@Tigitmotorbikes You don't need a lock? Friend you have been nowhere. If you want to cross from Da Nang into Laos they require all sorts of proof as to ownership etc. I have chains & locks to secure my bike. You cannot start the engine unless you have the RFID device that enables the engine. Honda master keys are readil available as are KZbin videos showing how easy it is to steal a Honda.

Nice tips. I'm new to dirt bikes. I bought the Honda 300L Rally and started playing with it. It's quite tall at 893mm seat height and taller than its dirt bike siblings. It's a bit tall for me as I'm only 5' 10". There are instances that I'm having trouble with muds, single tracks. Regarding the geometry, you mean to say that if I order the BMW 900 GS eduro or anything on the GS line, which they offer varying seat height adjustments, will they ruin the geometry? Edit: at 07:32, it made me smile xD
@Tigitmotorbikes24 күн бұрын
I think if the manufacturer is doing the adjustments the geometry will be fine. The point is, is lowering the seat is not always a simple fix and it very much depends on the model of bike.
