Do you have to connect 1 tigo per panel in 2 different orientations,Or if you say have one string facing same orientation and say of 8 panels and one or 2 panels shaded you only put tigo on them?

Yes thats correct for both scenarios 👍🏻

Why not fix the problem and install the correct string inverter. Curious what size inverter was installed? What make?

Hey, just been testing these. Your analogy is wrong. If you have panels in a string and there are shaded panels. The diodes on the panels will by pass and not drag down the power. See. A few other people report the same and how they can lower the output... I didnt find that myself, they simply do nothing. Could you do a follow up video and show the difference they make.

Not true, see one if my other videos showing how a shaded panels drops string current.

@@joondalupelectricalservice3201 they do, until the diodes kick in and there has to be a difference between panels. At least the tigo drops the voltage and takes out the whole panel rather than part of the panel. Volts x amps = power. 20v 2 amps = 40w sunny 10v 2 amp = 20w. Tigo 20v 1 amps = 20w shaded no tigo

The diodes will eventually fail, the shaded part of the panel will also become resistive and hot and will also eventually fail. The Tigo is protecting the panel from damage, in fact if you read the warranty conditions for a warranty claim to be honored most panel manufacturers stipulate that a panel installed in a partially shaded location will void the warranty……

Do the optimizers need to be "connected to the cloud" or can they be stand alone?
@joondalupelectricalservice3201 Жыл бұрын
They don’t need to be connected to the cloud.

Yes Enphase does have module level monitoring. That was kinda their gimmick foe years.
