How to Connect the Tigo TS4 to the Solar Module

Can you combine one Tigo ts4a with one tigo ts42a top configure 3 solar panels 310 watts,38 vdc to make a 3 panel string?

Hello! It seems you are missing the product model in your question but I assume you are referring to the TS4-A-F and the -2F since the -2F is the only product that can connect to two modules. Yes, you are able to mix and match those two products in the same string. If your PV inverter has an internal rapid shutdown transmitter, you must ensure the safety voltage of the TS4s is enough to turn the PV inverter on. It would be soooo much easier to perform excellent wire management if the TS4’s could wired on the rails *before* the modules are installed! I know that’s not how it works, but could you do this?

Actually you can, and have always been able to, rail mount the TS4s. Our quick start guide shows how to do this by removing the silver clips and using M8 bolts to connect it to the rail. A word of caution- people who rail mount MLPE are probably used to other MLPE companies that only allow this type of installation. Regardless of which mounting method you use, always connect the TS4 to the module first and then to the neighboring modules. People who are used to rail mounted MLPE tend to connect them together and then connect to the module. This could cause abnormal operation with our TS4s.
