Tigran is one of the 21st century genius of classical music. What a time to be alive! He has delicacy, depth, power, spirit, abstraction... Completely trascendental music!

This is the rhythmic equivalent of a jaw-dropping microtonal symphony. And of course, because he’s a genius, managed to add the harmony of a piano on top of that… Absolutely insane.

It is really astonishing how he can go from extremely complex and technical heavy sections to pure harmony and beautifully simple melodies.

I've always considered myself to be a very music minded person. I feel like I've always been able to comprehend and "feel" music better than most people. Most every piece of music I've ever heard, with every artist/composer I will tell myself, "if I practice this enough, I will eventually be able to play it", and that is a statement I still find true. Hamasyan however is much different from any other artist I've ever seen. The way he "feels" music is unlike anything I've ever heard or seen before. The way he comprehends each note and rhythm is incredible. It's as if his musical mind has an absolutely perfect, disruption free connection with his body and his hands. This is beyond my limits, and I'm not afraid to say it. I will never be able to hear and feel music like Hamasyan can. I can listen to it and understand it, but the way he is able to play, regardless of the complexity and difficulty of the piece, just his style and the "feel".. I will never compare and don't know anyone that can. Thank you Berkeley for hosting and thank you Tigran for the incredible performance as always.

If you look, at 10:11 it looks like he meant to play that one note 3 times but the third hit didn't come out all the way - but then he plays the same rhythm again, with just 2 of those notes... what a genius
@matthewdrake6053 жыл бұрын
For anyone who's wondering, at least in the studio recording, the pulse shift at 14:32 is from sixteenth notes grouped into fives in 4/4 (giving it a sort of broken 60% swing feel), to sixteenth note quintuplets grouped into sixes in 7/4. I measured the tempos and had my notation software play it back to be sure!

7:14 How is everything he plays so killing and perfect... The tension and release of the line is just so natural

Astounding. Seriously, I believe Tigran is the only human being on the planet who could pull something like this off.

Such a masterpiece! Tells a story. feels good to listen to. I will admit, I have been listening to this on repeat during work for a whole week, non stop, over and over, the whole 8 hours. It does NOT get old!

i have been watching this video everyday since it got posted and - i love the 5:28 clap - and tigran just slowly wiggling his head like "oh man you think that was everything?.." and then he proceeds to blow everyones mind second by second
@TimothyGondola6 жыл бұрын
This literally blew my mind :o Tigran's thinking is beyond "another level" I can't figure out how he computes these insane rhythmic rearrangements...

I've been listening to a lot complex stuff. Hell, I even play some on the piano. But this. My mind just can't comprehend. It just goes into a "whaaat" mode. Like no idea. Absolutely flabbergasted. WTF
