This music is basically jazz fusion meets Meshuggah meets Armenian folk music. This music gives me chills just like the first time I ever listened to System of a Down back in 2005.

Tigran is becoming one of the all time greats, in all of music. He is truly extraordinary.

I wholeheartedly believe that so far, Tigran is the most important musician of the 21st century. I’m sure his music will live on much beyond our lifetimes.
@austinworkman9967Ай бұрын
With complete sincerity I agree. And I think he is totally in his prime. Just the solo on Dream Voyager here (and of course all the other tracks) speaks to a total maturity and control over artistic vision.
@WeefatgoblinАй бұрын
What’s your metric for most important? Genuinely curious. Surely there would need to be an element of impact, acclaim, reach, cultural relevance.. This seems pretty niche to me
@ardakeremoglu1Ай бұрын
@@Weefatgoblin As a big Tigran fan, I would love to see a comprehensible explanation for such a superlative claim.
@seveeraАй бұрын
@@Weefatgoblin For important musicians and composers - which in the case of Tigran Hamasyan I regard as synonymous - this impact, acclaim, reach, and cultural relevance, has historically often only emerged long after the musician's death. Almost all of the great western classical composers we know of today for example, were at their time not nearly as popular or respected as they are today - many of them dying poor and often forgotten about for several years to follow until they were rediscovered at a way later time. Being a composer myself, it means little to nothing if a musician or composer is not yet well-known or not as popular and widespread among people as some world famous stars as an indicator for how important they are for music. What's important for music is driving change and development, creating the means to opening the minds of people (this generally takes a long time), and especially discovering or affirming possibilities and ideas in music that have not yet been established or widespread. And I think there are many elements like this in Tigran Hamsyan's Music. The combination of traditional Armenian music and Jazz for example, the rhythmic complexities and many more things are extremely interesting to me, both because I personally enjoy it as a listener, but also because it's very refreshing and inspirational to hear as a composer. - I don't feel any of this for most of the current popular music. Though I would maybe not agree with the exact wording of the original comment, that he is "the" most important musician, as that is a pretty definitive and difficult claim to make, I would most definitely agree that he is "one of the" most important musicians of the 21st century - that is a safe bet.

SPOILER ALERT😀!!! DON'T JUMP TO TIME CODE!!! I have heard a lot of different jazz-folk music from around a world, and know about Tigran as great musician and surely because I'm Armenian (hope others, from around the world, will discover him, despite where are they from), yet have never heard his music (It's never too late to correct mistakes😅), Nice calming vibes at the beginning right until 3:51, and then goosebumps over goosebumps, then at 5:35 more goosebumps over goosebumps, I'd say attack of the goosebumps😁, and that was just a beginning. Thanks a lot, @Audiotree.
