fair point and as a former chorus performer myself I played in my last performance 2 characters including a character which we re-wrote to be a split-personality and a caricature of Fmr. PM John Howard.

I hope they paid the actors extra for this because if you look closely you'd notice that the coppers are also the pirates and come Act 2 you'll also notice that the Pirate Band and the Coppers are only half the size of what they were in the first act.

I have just arrived home from seeing "The Rock Show" starring a host of young and very talented people headed by ... Jon English. If you get the chance to see it do so. There is so much talent out there, including Jon.

What makes you think they are lip-synching? The entire video is out of synch, but I'm sure they are really performing. It wouldn't be possible to do a live performance of Gilbert and Sullivan and lip-synch the whole thing.

Why would they pay them extra? They're the chorus, thats their job. They don't get paid by per how many characters they do. They get paid on what their job title is.
@pannicatack15 жыл бұрын
Well, in the movie, they cast Tony Azito. He was a dancer, and they cast him in it so they could go more into choreography. He wasn't really much of a singer, and his voice certainly wasn't the deep bass voice you'd want for the Sergeant. They didn't even go down to the F in this song. Still a good performance, just not what Sullivan had written for it.
