Save yourself a lot of money while visiting Hong Kong by not going inside!!! Instead, drive just a block south and look to your left, and you’ll find over 50 options to choose from. I just got back, and the prices are great compared to those in Hong Kong. They charge anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 MX pesos for everything, while you can find services for just 500 MX pesos, including a hotel room for 30 minutes!

Southern California border hoppers lost a lot of interest in Tijuana post-9/11 when lines at the border became lengthy and passport requirements were put into effect. Going to Tijuana's Avenida Revolucion was once a rite of passage for SoCal teens on weekend nights. Nowadays, you rarely see any gringo youths visiting the clubs on Friday or Saturday. Mostly local Mexicans now.

Didja know that Los Angeles reported only 330 murders in 2023? In comparison, there were 1,844 homicides in Tijuana. A few years earlier, the number of murders in TJ topped 2,000. So Tijuana is a violent city. You won't find any city in the US with anywhere close to 2000 murders in a year.

The cartels probably own most of the businesses around there and pimp the girls so they're not going to do their dirty work where they make money. I have had my phone pick pocketed out of my back pack there at 2 am so you have to watch for that but I have been going there for the last 2 years about twice a month and walk the the streets with no problems other than the phone.

Cartels most likely own the majority of businesses around there and they're not going to crap where they eat. I walk around the streets at all hours of the night the only thing I have happened was my cellphone pickpocketed out of my back pack on calle revolucion at 2 am. If you're worried about anything, just take a taxi to and from the border crossing right to the clubs.

I was there Thursday night until yesterday morning. Very slow right now. Not many paraditas on the streets. Don't like the Hong Kong girls or their prices. Beers there are now 102 pesos...around 6 USD. No thanks .The sleaze bars around there charge as low as 25 pesos for a media.

Absolutely. HK is really just a tourist bar for gringos so they naturally overcharge customers who don't know any better. The smaller bars that are strictly Spanish speaking and service the locals, charge about half of what HK does.

Visitors do get robbed. Sometimes by being in a bad neighborhood in Tijuana. Sometimes by the extortion hungry policia. But it's farfetched to say that "most" visitors get robbed. If you stick to the Avenida Revolucion tourist strip, I'd say that it's pretty rare for a visitor to get robbed. If you venture in the Zona, the chances increase. It's a bad neighborhood. But you're still likely to leave unharmed and with your money intact. Unless you spend it all on putas.
