Mexico started soccer earlier than USA which is why they have the edge. USA has decent soccer but needs improvement. If your going to bring up this past world cup, I'll save you the trouble. Mexico and USA both lost, but let's not forget who they lost too. USA couldn't even score against Belgium until extra time which means they lack offense. Mexico scored early and held their own for like 85 minutes and fell apart in 6 which means they need a better defense. Admit it ese in a scale of 1-10 Mexico is like a 7 in soccer and USA is like a 6.

Mexican league is more established than the MLS because its been in place longer. That being said and this being about Mexican vs MLS teams. Mexico wouldnt even have been at the world cup if it wasnt for the USA. There no excuses and its a fact. Mexico on paper is the best team in CONCACAF but on the field its a different story. Also dont judge the team based on just one world cup else you are saying Costa Rica is the best in CONCACAF?

In fact my message is that mexico is a good team by saying there shouldnt have been any excuses for their struggles. Listen I don't hate MLS I already stated that, I would like nothing more than the top tier of Europes elite to play here state side, but the only way that will occur is if we pay triple wages! I have supported DC United for over a decade now, even though they blow massive chunks, but I'm sorry if MLS isn't up to other leagues standards, they'll get there hopefully sooner than later!

How many European players that have signed in their prime, and I'm not talking about players that couldn't get onto a big club in Europe? Robbie keane? Thierry Henry? All great once, but now they are here for the quick payday before it is out to pasture, my gosh they're saying Drogba may come after this season and how awesome that would be, he is what 34, or there abouts? As an American and huge footie fan I have to ad it'd that the MLS is still miles behind the rest. They need to stop signing European has Been's just for name sake! The only way they will compete is when they can get players in their prime, not when they are 34, 35 etc....I know that won't go down well on here, but the truth is the truth and yes I know Galaxy won 1st leg, but who advanced?

sigh ... anyone saying this clearly doesn't know MLS and doesn't follow it. the trend of signing 34 yr old players hasn't been happening for a long while now. the last couple years almost all the Designated Players signed have been under 30, with many of them being in their very early 20's. even the ones that are over 30 (Clint Dempsey, Jermain Defoe) are just about 31. hardly European has beens.

good -- and ultimately meaningless -- game for a wake up call to start the season. the entire first half, they were strategically lobbing over-the-top balls because our defense notoriously has problems with those but the main problem was that their midfield beat our midfield with gameplay speed and movement off the ball, a result of being a few months already into their season. learn from this game, galaxy.

I don't think Liga MX is that much better than MLS. They probably are slightly better, but the MLS just has an inferiority complex playing in Mexico, they're like mental midgets. And LA and the other teams could have probably put the series away at home anyway but they didn't take their chances.
