There's a girl I know who age regresses, but without really knowing? She's 16, but an seemingly random times she suddenly starts behaving and adapting the mannerisms of a literal 8 year old. Her entire language and vocabulary she's using shrinks down, she keeps making sounds and noises like a kid and giggles about them, her moods change quickly, I have to change my entire approach to her when this happens. I find myself gentle parenting this sudden child, guiding and reminding her where we were going, what we are doing in class right now, etc. She would doodle on paper, play with kids apps on her phone and completely forget/ignore social cues as if she hasn't learnt them. I know about age regressing, so I try to provide as much guidance and comfort as possible. I feel like a parent. When she zones back out of it and returns to her usual behavior she does not mention any of what happened leading me to believe she doesn't truly remember. That girl is traumatized. I know about her childhood, what her mom did to her and her brother, how her dad & his girlfriend are treating her.. recently we've even been looking for ways to contact official authorities to get her out of her situation. When she is in that headspace she is a child. Not someone pretending to be one, she is a literal kid that needs a trusted adult to keep an eye on her. I can not even process the thought of sexualizing someone who is actively in that age regressed headspace. It's disgusting. I do sincerely hope these people are just living out consentual vile fantasies while being fully mentally present as adults. Doing anything with someone who has a kids mind can and will deeply traumatize them. They are children during these episodes and need to be treated with love and care.

When they involuntarily regress (though some may learn how to avoid/manage the triggers) they are in the headspace of an actual child and may be confused or disoriented if they aren't in a safe environment for this (like in their room). There is also no evidence that they remember what they were doing when they were in "Little Space" Age play is fully consenting adults pretending to be a different age and isn't inheritly sexual, tho a lot of people have it as a kink. I’m autistic and I age regress involuntarily after chronic panic attacks and involuntary self harm. I’m someone who wanted to get a “onesie” but it’s only because it looks appealing because of the colors, I also use pacifiers for sensory and meltdowns. I don’t go the full extent because I’m normally shut down and I’m too scared to. I don’t like going on the internet and exposing it because its a vulnerable place for me. Seeing people sexualize it makes me feel really sick and makes me feel a lot more unsafe even at home. It’s embarrassing even especially when people have bashed the community and makes me feel awful for having this issue. It’s a huge Rabbit Hole for me.

I used to go back to almost infant or about 2 years old. Unfortunately I went through... Horrible things. And still am. So to cope, my brain takes me back to when it was safe. Aka, 1-2 years old. For what I know age regression is a trauma response, it helps people with childhood trauma and psychologists usually recommend that, but the problem is when some people use age regression to sexualize themselves or turn it into a kink which is wrong and invalidate people who are struggling with their traumas. As an age regressor, I hate it when people sexualize it. It's not something to be sexualized. I personally use it to deal with depression / anxiety / trauma, and it's certainly not something that I would make a TikTok about. It's more of something that I do in my alone time so I can feel safe. Pacifiers, plushes, coloring books and cartoons is it, not these sexualized baby clothes. Wearing baby clothes can help, like sleepers. I mean actual sleepers, not the ones where your boobs hang out of them. Many regressors who have a caregiver (someone who can take care of them when they're "little") do call them mommy/daddy, but it's a comfort thing, not a kinky thing. These tiktoks are extremely harmful. I’m someone who involuntary regresses after I have panic attacks and meltdowns due to Autism and it’s not really fun. I try to make the best of it because I do end up wanting the rest of the “gear” due to its bright colors and textures. I own a pacifier and I only really use it during shutdowns as a way of soothing. I also have a sip cup since it also helps me drink water (I have a hard time swallowing) and it helps with my intake as well. I don’t like it when people sexualize age regression because it makes it harder for people like me who get into relationships and then finds out that some guys will find it okay to do so, and then take advantage of a vulnerable part in my life. Some people do it for fun, which I’m not against, but honestly I hate the generalization that we’re “child groomers” or “getting out of responsibilities” etc. I have a part time job, I go every day, even if I’m sick or having a bad day, and I still end up doing my chores. In no way shape or form would I call anyone “Daddy” during my regression, because that’d be creepy as shit. If I happen to get into a relationship with someone who understands, I don’t want them to treat me like I’m this whole responsibility, maybe only when it happens because normally I can grab my own stuff and do my own thing. I don’t want to be a burden on anyone, and I like being independent. It makes me sick seeing something that I can’t control being sexualized right in front of me. Its disgusting.
