I’m a frequent patron at Trader Sam’s and Tangaroa Terrace (The outdoor patio area). I’ve seen a lot of “regulars” there and I usually get a seat at the bar. I’m looking forward to checking out Grog Grotto within the next couple years. Cheers everyone and another great episode!

Don't forget that Grog Grotto is in the Polynesian, which was open in 1971, and the Polynesian at the time was very much orgional with its 70s vibe, so I feel that was the reason Brandon brought in that vibe to it

I gotta find the Frankie’s vs. Golden vid. Heading there In June! I’ve been to Trader Sam’s a few times! Always fun! Met Kelly at Tiki Caliente last year! But just a fun comparison today! So great to meet you at Hale Pele! Have a great weekend my friend!

The pleasure was all mine Ann! Thank you for coming over and saying hello. If you can try to hit both Frankies and The Golden Tiki, both are great but very different

Florida resident local to the Poly. Grog Grotto was the wife & my weekly date night spot for over a year. There are plenty of locals that GG (or the Tiki Terrace) is their regular bar. And Dizz can make some stellar off menu drinks.

Have only been to the Florida Polynesian Village so I can't really compare Florida Vs. California,. As a DVC menber who is really into vintage Tiki, I actually prefer sitting at the upstairs bar over the Grog Grotto. It's so much more relaxing and you can enjoy a cocktail while having a nice coversation with friends, family, and others seated at the bar than the somewhat rushed through Grog Grotto which tends to "try too hard" to be entertaining. I have to admit, it was better before they destroyed the lobby, but it's a bar that is grossly looked over in comparison.
