So emotional watching homes just left like that. To imagine them answering the phone, reading, sleeping, cooking, and living.

this was the first abandoned house i ever explored as a teenager, it was in 2016. the beds were still made then, the hydro still on. mt friends and i sat in the middle of the living room on the floor and played a game of ouija. to think we were even able to do that is crazy. i’ve visited every so often since then. i used to call this “my house”, it makes me so sad to see how fast it’s decayed. this house holds a special place in my heart ♥️ from my understanding it was an old lady that passed away and the farm next door now owns the property.

A quick google of Ernest A Webb Agricultural Engineers says the blue thing is part of a seed drill, and surprisingly worth a fair amount of money as a vintage/historical piece, and likely worth much much more to whoever owned it when it was left here to rot.

Wow, that is old. Lots of stuff from the 1970s or earlier it looks like. Looks like there may have been two women sharing the place at some point? Sisters? Maybe a husband and wife at some point and one died off... in any event, it's obvious the surviving person died in that place and nobody was left to take over. Sad really. I am always reminded of how we should not focus on gathering up THINGS in life, as this is where it may end up. Just rotting away in an old empty home. Great find as always anyhow.

I've often wondered as I watch your videos, under what circumstances would a family simply leave the house behind with a closet full of clothes and a fridge full of food? What happened? Where did they go? Who owns the house now?

Could be a demo model? Was thinking the owner built the room around the seeder (moved seeder while building around it), they also had that large blue machinery across from the seeder, I could only think it was a demo model as it was located near - ish the business desk...but what an odd place to put a large seeder inside a porch....

It must have not of been a profitable business for everything to have been left behind and in such erratic physical discourse; also, you really should be wearing protective equipment in these kinds of places. Even with all that ventilation that those broken windows provide, you still could be breathing in dangerous particles and vapors. (I know you know this already. Just a reminder.) 👍

Whenever I see videos like this, I always feel jealous that the building I went into was pretty much empty of furniture.. Only a piano, an old fashioned refrigerator (I think it was from the 40's or 50's) a few wardrobes and a few other things.. those things all disappeared after awhile and the rest was pushed into the basement stairway.. It was rather clean inside.. no plaster from the ceiling or walls... just a bunch of books.. tons of books... Cook books mostly but there were few medical books.. there was nothing left of value.. The son took everything and locked it up when his mother died because he lived in California and he didn't want anything to do with the house in Vermont. All I know is the husband died and after that the woman became crazy with loneliness, she'd hitchhike across the country so I'd say it was the 70's and 80's perhaps.. When I see houses like this.. all I can think is that the place I went to had absolutely no vandals for awhile.. once the wall came down, it was fair game and a free for all... I walked out with a jar of old matchbooks but then I found out they were worthless if they didn't have matches in them.. and I'm very surprised that pretty much all of these places have doors left inside... then again most of the homes that are found are in residential areas or near active roads.. but the place I went was out in the middle of a deadend road.. the doors were stolen and even the old kitchen sink

So fascinating, but makes me sad in a way. The summation of a person or family’s life left in ruins. My guess is, the lady lived there as the farm was sold away and her husband passed on, then nobody wanted it or they picked it over and left the rest. Judging by the stuff on the ground floor and lack thereof upstairs, betting she eventually lived downstairs and didn’t venture up much as she aged. I’m reminded of mom’s house when she died. There just wasn’t time to sort through everything. Same with grandmas house, so much left that you don’t know what to do with.

question. what would happen if you were to steal from the house? is it still stealing? will there be an owner of the hose as in a victim or how does it work if you decide to remove something from an abandonned house?
@TikiTrex
@TikiTrex 11 ай бұрын
Then trespassing is elevated to a felony. Every house has an owner. Usually someone buys the land (usually a farmer to extend their property or a land developer) but is not interested in the house. Therefore, the house is abandoned for its intended purpose.

Yes, once the roof goes, the rest of the house goes pretty fast. I'm glad you walk light and look things over good...otherwise, you might find the fast way back to the first floor. The house I did most of my growing up in had a closet like that...shared by two bedrooms. I was thinking...it almost looks like the whole fandamily was run out of the place. Anyway, thanks for catching the place while it's still standing. I bet you won't want to go in there if you revisit in the spring.
