So many things to love about this one: High ceilings, the views, cool-looking attic, ornamentations, colors. Great find! The resident ghosts need to be a little more considerate about slamming those doors though.

Wow, way bigger and nicer on the inside than I was expecting! Looks so livable still, that roof is in surprisingly good shape. Great find, glad you could document this home before its gone!

Old friends of our family live in a farmhouse very similar to this which was built in the 1700’s. It has the exact same narrow twisty staircase that was turned into shelves and a closet like that one. I believe they were servants stairs and they lead from the dining room up to the back of a closet in an upstairs bedroom, live-in servants quarters maybe?

Glad to see you again. You have the same problem I have finding new places. I have trouble finding new places to metal detect. I bet the staircase in the pantry was the exit for the upstairs living quarters only. Wouldn't take much to renovate this place. Was a great place back in the day.

Could that not be renovated or must it be left to rot ? Seems odd to leave .So a 3rd rate developer will build expensive shoe boxes ..Tragic if so ..This house has character and something that went bang .Great video and strong heart .The wood work in that place was great . Many thanks and greetings :)) Like 88.

thanks for taking us along in this beautiful old house. i'd love to explore it in person - like you said, these places are getting so hard to find. :( that kitchen staircase turned pantry would have originally been for servants (so they were out of sight from the home owners).

Very nice. Too bad it's going to be torn down then NEW buildings put in it's place. It was broken into a couple apartments. The steel on the downstairs doors and new lock sets gave it away. Too many old houses end this way. Great work Tiki trex!
@HearGear Жыл бұрын
Since they didnt use this house as a duplex anymore they didnt need the door straight ahead from the main entrance. But i think back in the day this must have been a great house, the bathroom on the ground level floor must have been renovated within the past 20 years or so, at least what it looks like. Great video... thanks..

Nice farmhouse Tiki, you delivered as promised in response to my comment in last weeks post. 😍 After the doors slammed, I was waiting to hear the deep growling voice, "Get Out!" If that rockin chair in the attic would have started moving on it's own, I would have flown down the stairs and outside in record time. Thanks for sharing. Might as well go next door and check out that abandoned house before it's gone. Oopsie! Never mind, I scrolled further down in the comments and saw it's a future post,

So great to see another new video! I too love the old charm of these old houses. I enjoy imagining what they were like in their prime, with young, new families, children playing, cooking, moms are doing mom things and daddies are at work, whether it's blue collar, white collar, white collar crime, crime boss, or cake boss. :-D Love your videos so much, TikiTrex! And that door scared me too! I really wish you had someone with you, even if they didn't participate in the video, but just to be there, you know? - for your backup!!!! You've got guts, girl!

You see that staircase off the kitchen a lot in old farmhouses. It looks like they blocked it off and turned it into a storage space for their kitchen. To save money and time, they didn't bother ripping the stairs out or boarding them in.

WOW That reminds me on the old mennoniits house you did once. And i think that house is so big it were 2 apartements,maybe also from Mennonites. Yesterday i read from them many went to southern america but faild there and never came back,even in the mid 50-ties to the End 70-ties. That would also fit,somebody overtook the house (in the first floor behind the kitchen that bathroom is so new,loks almost from the early 2000.. As usual dear Tiki all what you show is so cool,and i learn from Canada and also from the friends of the USA so much . It would be cool,if you could do soemthing with "Hometown Saskatchewan" you 2 would fit together. Both very calm and so much knowledge of old things. Greatings from Germany. :)

what a great vid Tiki, I grew up in a kind of similar house built in the 1880s, except it had the barn shaped rook(hansard?) and that back staircase with the built in pantry was actually for maids to use, and back then they never built closets if an old house has closets they were added after, armoires were used, and Ill tell you that house I grew up in was almost as cold as outside heh
