I am a former elite athlete who’s been through many serious injuries three ACL reconstruction‘s. Braley’s best friend is ice, constantly ice keep her leg above the heart but do not put ice directly on the skin put a towel on the foot first, otherwise it will burn the skin. But going through all these surgeries I’ve had a lot of disappointments, but that only makes you stronger. I know how bad of a disappointment it is at first, just help her through it, and then once she’s allowed to start practicing on the foot , she’s only going to work hard to be a better athlete. She’s got this, she comes from a strong family, trust me Braille’s going to surprise you ❤️🙏

aw my heart broke to hear about the possibility of Brailee having to miss varsity but I feel like your advice was great. I would definitely suggest taking Rosie on a long walk a in the morning and then again in the evening. Usually a dog will do that when they’re bored and have too much energy to burn. Our dog trainer truly helped so much! Maybe look into that if it becomes a bigger issue? Best of luck!

I've sprained my ankles before it's the worst PAIN it was as big as a football. I feel yah! The same thing happened to me!!! Request for an MRI!!! They told me mine was a sprain and 3 years later I’m still in pain!! They didn’t do an MRI and I tore a ligament and it adhered to the bone now I need surgery. Please ask more questions and get an MRI

I’m not trying to be a downer but I rolled my foot and had pain in a similar spot. I went to urgent care the next day and they said it wasn’t broken. After 5 months I was having continued pain that was getting worse so I finally asked my orthopedic dr about it. One mri later and it turns out it is broken with damaged cartilage, and damage to my ligaments. It’s now 9 months later and I’m still recovering and might need surgery. I would just be very careful and if it isn’t healing or you just don’t have a good feeling about it, get seen by an ortho to get things resolved. Again I don’t want to sound rude but I felt I had to share as this might help you. I hope all goes well and she heals fast 👍💖

Hoping for the best for brailies ( sorry for spelling) ankle. A sprain can be really bad. I sprained mine really badly when I was 8 and it only started to get better after physio therapy when I was 13

I broke my ankle in the same spot she did .And the x ray did not show the break up .It only showed up when I had MRI done 2 months after the break.The way you just touched her ankle and she felt so much pain still could mean a break.I could not even put a bed sheet over my foot with out so much pain .

I sprained my foot like Brailey’s when I went to Hawaii, it was so swollen and I couldn’t walk well. A random person came up to me and asked if they can pray for the pain in my foot, and magically my foot felt nothing and I instantly started to walk normally!!! ♥️

Brailee would have known she had broken her ankle. I've had 3 people in the past 6 months break their legs/ankles and they've all had to call an ambulance and everything because of the pain. Nonetheless. I hope she heals up quickly.

Not necessarily true. I had a bad break in my ankle and foot, and have also had several sprains. The pain from the sprain was so much more than with the break.

Please never ice an injury after the first few hours, the body is transporting all the blood and heat to the injury so it heals itself faster, but when u ice it it blocks this process .....
