She fails to understand how animals actually work and function. For example, domesticated birds. Birds view their cage as their territory, exclusively their own territory. They will protect it and be defensive over it if they don’t want their territory touched. I own a lovebird. His cage is his home in his mind, it’s his nest in a sense. He knows this and I know this. As long as the cage meets the standards and requirements these birds need, along with being socialized with and overall properly cared for, then the bird will live a happy life. Not to mention, birds born in captivity will die if they’re released in the wild. There’s so many fundamentals that she blatantly ignores. I do agree that animals in many industries NEED to be treated better, but being like this towards people who actually care for and love their animals is not the way to make a difference. That’s fighting the wrong fight.

most cows and even sheep would die in the wild. not too long ago a sheep was found (you can google this) who ran off from its pen or something like 5 years ago and was found with 80lbs of wool. they do not shed naturally, you have to sheer them. 80lbs! people were shocked it could stand. dairy cows too...their feet are very delicate and need to be maintained...by humans.

Oh god, yeah... plus the cheap meats where I live are so pumped with sugar that it sends type 1 diabetics in my family in comas...(it has, so we stopped eating it) You can find cheaper ones... but yeah, American health and food kind of think you should suffer or pass if you have health or food issues. (My family has food allergies, but we can eat the food. We just can't inhale or touch it with our hands.... cinnamon and honey are the most likely for our family. Also diabetics (type 1 and some type 2) in my family... I'm not diabetic but dark chocolate is too sweet for me now... since my family eats the same as the diabetics to make it easier to keep track. I eat vegan pizza, I don't like gluten-free stuff... Vegan things still taste good to me... gluten-free things don't taste good to me... (My personal taste, I'm not saying either is good or bad) Vegan things aren't priced too bad, though... not gluten-free, sugar-free, non-gmo, and organic things are expensive. (I eat organic doritos, i get them at a discount store)

there's nothing wrong with having domestic animals but you could simply stop raising them in captivity and they wouldn't be domesticated, the bird situation isnt like dog breeding/domestication in that sense (except for some birds like the common pigeon, but look at them thriving!). besides that plenty of domesticated animals do just fine in the wild over time (feral cats and dogs, there are so manymany examples, there are a TON of random wildlife groups that are escaped pets, florida is a great example of this - there are macaw communities, pythons etc - but this often brings about huge ecological changes which is a bit fucked up for the native wildlife). generally though birds don't have much of a chance at successfully rejoining their wild communities because they were born and raised in captivity. i think a big difference with birds is that what we're talking about is in australia where a large amount of pet birds globally actually are native to - so it's a challenge for them to go live with their wild counterparts when they simply never learned how to be wild in the first place. most domestic escapees struggle to compete for food, territory and mates and might be more suceptible to illness. that said tons of pet birds in aus, native and non native, escape and live just fine in the wild!

Storytime, feel free to skip 😊... A friend of mine's family own a commercial dairy farm. I lived next door for several years. The one thing I can firmly state is that cows are stupid. For example: on Saturdays (where we lived), you could burn paper trash, if you had a designated burn barrel. Which, of course, we did. Mostly we just burned mail or anything with our banking info on it. It only took a few minutes, but because our barrel was beside the pasteur. It was our friend (who owned the dairy farm that gave us and placed it). But the cows would literally line up and lick the barrel when we were done. Because the barrel would still be hot, they burned their tongues, then get back in line to do it again. We spoke to our friend, asking about moving the barrel (we were renting from them). Our friends laughed and said it was OK, the cows liked the carbon. Then they shared a few stories, that they had to deal with. The first story was that if there is ever a brush fire in one of the fields, the cows will run TO the fire. It is sadly a true phenomenon. (I googled this phenomenon, and apparently they aren't afraid of the fire, and may even warm themselves by the moving flamed. But they don't just run mindlessly to the fire... so i do apologize for that mis-information). The last story they shared was how one of the cows was grazing beside a tree that was forked at the base.... yep, you guessed it, she stuck her head between the forks and got stuck. Because cows necks are SO fragile, they had to VERY carefully cut down one of the trees to free her. She was fine, but afterwards several cows went grazing rubbing their necks all over the cut tree. None of the others got hurt. In fact, none of the cows ever got hurt. They were taken better care of then most people. These activists preach about letting them roam free..... they wouldn't survive. Personally I believe in the circle of life. We eat them, then when we die, we become food for them. (Well if we were buried naturally). Anyway if you read this... THANKS 😊. I was just sharing a bit of info i learned living next to and knowing the owners of a commercial dairy farm 😊. Hope you have a great day 😊

Vegan of 5 years here: I find it really saddening when people go about vegan activism like this. I think its great when people want to have real discussions about veganism, but it is not proactive to force your opinions on others whether its about veganism or other topics. We live in an age where if people want to know, they will find out. You don't have to thus your opinions on unsuspecting bystanders who are just trying to go about their own life. However I would like to clarify I huge misconception about veganism: vegan MEAT alternatives are very expensive, yes, however BEING vegan can be cheaper than the omnivore diet. If you're really dedicated to creating cheap vegan meals, those meat alternatives aren't the move. Beans, tofu, nuts, quinoa and many others are fantastic sources of protein for people AND are much healthier than the meat alternatives... not to mention significantly cheaper than the majority meat products! I'm from Canada, where meat products are very expensive so I can't speak on other countries really, aside from the USA where it is very similar here. Comparing a simple meal of rice and chicken is more expensive than rice and tofu (and that's including heavily seasoning and marinating the tofu, since other wise it will be very bland) Anyways, this ended up being really long, so my apologies, but I hope some of you read this! All the love to you all, whether you're plant-based, an omnivore or anyone in between

Or, here's a thought. Stop putting your nose in other people's plates. Your dietary choices do not make you morally superior, nor do they give you any reason to judge or critique what someone else eats. Humans are omnivores. We have teeth specifically designed for renting flesh from bone, and our bodies MUST have K vitamins, which are only readily bioavailable in meat and organs. A deficiency of K vitamins literally causes people to go insane. TVT is a prime example of K vitamin deficiency. If you have to take a truck load of supplements, just to replace the vitamins and minerals not provided by your diet, it isn't natural or healthy. Those supplements are also far more expensive than actual food products. Simply put, eating meat is natural for humans. Not eating meat is not.

as a bird owner domesticated birds cannot survive out in the wild. it’d be 10x more cruel to release a domesticated bird than own one and looks after it properly. domesticated birds aren’t kept in their cage 24/7 as they need at least 8 hours out of their cage per day. they are extremely needy animals and rely on humans for their care. her entire point on the bird thing proves she didn’t even research if domestic birds could survive in the wild or anything. next she’ll be coming at lizard owners or snake owners 😭

No, in the US that food is far more expensive. If you're wondering why the US has an obesity problem, a big chunk of that is because unhealthy items (such as sugar) are often subsidized, and healthier options (like fruits and vegetables) are not. Oh, and if Trumplestiltskin starts the tariff nonsense and mass deportation, it's going to get much worse. By the way, I would bring up to her that vegetables give off a high-pitch scream when they're picked, so why is abusing plants okay? Also, vegan diets lead to over-farming of plants such as soy, and other plant substitutes which actually does a lot of harm to the environment, as well. The bottom line is this, too much of anything is bad. Balance is better. Also, as someone who is neurodivergent, strict dietary restictions like hers can be very challenging for people who have difficulty with various food textures and other difficulties with diet and food. So, one could argue that she is incredibly ablest. One example, would be that I have eaten vegan/vegetarian food before, but I can always tell that it's not the real thing regardless of flavor. I can tell the difference between ground turkey and ground beef. Now, I am at a point in my life, where I can often just deal with it, but I am autistic and ADHD, and this has been a long path for me. Thinking that it's so easy, is somewhat ablest, and I don't use that term lightly.

My mom had me and my siblings go vegan for religious reasons. I HATED it. Plus it really was horribly expensive just to get the foods that have enough nutrients, fats and protein that the body needs daily.

The problem vegans have with milk is the industrial level side of things, cows NEED to be pregnant and give birth to produce milk, so in order for big corps to keep their millionaire milk factory running, they will literally do artificial insemination on their cows, over and over again, for the rest of their lives. @perplexity6996 dogs are actually omnivores and there is vegan dog food out there but I personally would prefer to feed my pet it's natural diet weather I eat meat or not but you're completely right it is basically abusive to force an animal to eat a diet that can't fully sustain them bc I'm sure not all dog breeds would be able to live a full healthy life on this type of diet omnivore or not. She's quick enough to cry about a bird in a cage but then will tell people to essentially restrict their pets diet based on her beliefs and her food preferences, she does nothing to educate people on vegan diet nothing to promote meat alternatives or vegan restaurants she just screams and vandalizes property and then cries when the consequences of her actions come back to slap her round the face she's an immature child who throws a fit when she can't get her own way.

Birds in the wild die much sooner than caged birds. Same with cats which live longer if not allowed to roam the streets. This is complex but with the right knowledge this is understandable. She doesn’t understand basic nature.

Tbh though cows only „need” to be milked if you breed them and then take away the calf. It’s an issue created by humans but presented as if it’s just a normal state of things and cows need to be milked for no reason. So it’s kind of a dumb argument based on myth.

Wrong. Dairy cattle were selectively bred to be milk producers. You don't have to take the calf away. You can stimulate milk production through yearly pregnancy and what you feed the cow. The same goes for chickens. You need not have a rooster, of you feed your hens laying mesh. It is a pellet feed specially formulated to stimulate egg production. Humans have been raising livestock for millenia. We've figured out ways to bypass the biological triggers that must be flipped in non-domesticated animals.

My family grew up as small scale cattle farmers. We also raise rabbits for food and show. One thing you learn early is the difference between food animals and pet animals. We had pet rabbits and food rabbits. You didn’t name the food rabbits because it made it harder to eat them. With all that said, that’s how you do it as a vet. Especially as a big animal vet. And all the vets in my area, even small animal vets, own cattle. So I guess they all eat their patients. And she and Vegan Teacher are why I don’t ever want to be vegan. This level hangry is not worth it.

Funny thing about activists like this is they don't even seem to know some animals also cant just go back to the wild, most creatures that are born in captivity only know cadges and humans feeding them, Yes I agree birds need bigger cadges so they can fly and do all a bird needs to do and since they cant be in the wild they need toys and things to keep them busy cause who wants to be bored and have nothing to do,. There are also cases of birds that are disabled in some way or another and would die without their human looking after them.

i have horses and i hear the same crap about how they're wild animals and shouldn't be in stalls they want to be free! but they are not wild, they are domesticated. if my horse was just set loose to fend for himself, he would have a nervous breakdown. he gets turned out for a few hours every day and he is always ready to come in. he hates bugs, heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and anything that makes noise. being domesticated and provided the shelter of a stall, he doesn't have to be constantly searching for food, constantly in danger from predators, suffering from injuries or illnesses that can't be treated. he has a job to do, other horse friends, a safe place to rest and a human who loves him. this girl does not understand the concept of domestication. nevermind animal husbandry or the mutually beneficial relationship of companion animals and humans (all this assuming these animals have proper care, enrichment, etc)...

Dogs and cats are obligate carnivores. Feeding them a vegan diet, especially if you don't know what you're doing... is abuse of the carnivore. in question. Humans are also obligate omnivores. Most of us *need* both meat and plants to have a healthy, balanced diet.
