I have OCD. It’s not all “oH i’M s0 qUiRKY i wOrRY aBoUt lOcKiNG mY cAR do0r” it’s more like “I never apologized to that kid I made fun of in kindergarten” and then you have paralyzing anxiety for an hour and you cry thinking about how you made that person feel and that you’ve hurt them. I actually struggle a lot with my studies because of this, I have to take pills everyday, I get distracted despite knowing I need to get stuff done quickly and feel bad about it later, and my symptoms aren’t even severe. My younger brother just finished 6th grade, and honestly I'm so proud of him. My brother has huge anger issues and doctors told us he was Autistic. He got expelled from 2 schools and was always getting in trouble. He had to go to a special middle school because of the problems he had. As soon as he started 6th grade he was getting bullied which made him just get mad all the time and he got into lots of fights and his anger issues just got worse. But about 3 months ago he started to try. He ignored the bullying, and he just worked hard at school. He still got bullied, but he didn't let that stop him. He got on the honor roll and had all A's. Im so proud that even though he had these problems, even though he was getting bullied so bad teachers couldn't do anything. He still tried. Please don't take disorders and make them "quirky" cause people with them really struggle. Thanks for listening.

As a person with Autism and Anxiety , I don’t think anxiety is “fancy” because when you have an actual panic attack , who tf would say “oh , it’s a little bit fancy”. Anxiety is a real thing that can make you feel really bad! Autism SHOULDN’T be regarded as a quirky aesthetic , bc as well as anxiety , it’s also a very real thing that affects people. As an Autistic person , I can tell you , I DO NOT want to dance with that weird lady! If you’re one of those tiktokers , please either quit your tiktok , or upload normal tiktoks that aren’t about disorders , just STOP….

So when I’m explaining this to my friend she says, ‘ I think I have a little ADHD too, I can’t really focus in lessons’ now I feel it’s unfair to feel annoyed at this since I’m not actually diagnosed. I bet if these people who are self-diagnosed watched like three videos on the disorder longer than two minutes that didn’t use TTS, their delusions would get wiped off the floor. I will point out that self diagnosing for autism specifically can be the only way to get recognition from medical professionals. When I asked to be tested for autism, one doctor flat out told me I didn’t have it, and another gave me a test aimed at higher support needs autistic than I am. I did extensive research, I’m talking hours upon hours, researched symptoms, looked for REPUTABLE tests and took them (every single time I fell in the highest or second highest bracket), read studies on low support needs autism, looked at how autism presented in children and asked my mom if any of them applied to me, researched how it presents in women compared to men, etc. I then took all of my findings to my doctor and got officially diagnosed. It’s not as simple as finding one symptom and immediately self diagnosing. I don’t care if I get hate for this, but seriously, don’t dismiss all self diagnosed autistic as “faking it” or saying “come back when you’re officially diagnosed”, both of which have happened to me. It’s not as simple as that.

I have been diagnosed with Depression and PTSD- and guess what? It is absolute hell. Not too long ago, I was suicidal and just felt like a worthless piece of garbage on top of crying myself to sleep every night because of it. Not to mention I also have Anxiety. Just simply walking down the hall in front people makes me so worried and self-conscious to the point my heart starts beating so fast and my legs feel like Jello; and seeing people trying to make it out as "cute" & "quirky" is honestly insulting. You wanna know what you see?…what you see on that mirror is someone wearing a clown nose and wig holding a inflatable dog ballon. So why does he then say that "generalized anxiety disorder is fAnCiEr than anxiety disorder" when GAD literally IS an anxiety disorder? Like bruh what- And also, how can you get diagnosed with agoraphobia? That's literally a phobia, you don't need to get diagnosed to know that you have a phobia. I think that he meant social anxiety disorder, which is also called social phobia (I just looked up the name to make sure). Hey man, an autistic viewer here. I enjoy your videos, and I would like you explain something real quick. 6:05, the reason where the rainbow infinity symbol is used as a symbol for ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), is because the rainbow coloring is referencing the visible wavelengths on the electromagnetic spectrum, aka: colors. This is to represent that autism is a spectrum disorder (as mentioned in the name), meaning that people have different experiences with the condition. The coloring is bringing light to these people who have different experiences with the condition. I personally don’t know why a infinity symbol is used, but I believe it’s also referencing that autism is a spectrum. Just wanted to share that with you, have a good day. 👋 -♾️

Gosh darn it. People who think anger issues are quirky make me sick. Anger issues makes you hurt yourself and others. For me, the only way to flush the anger away for a small amount of time is to crush something, like a fidget toy. It's really not just mildly moving your wrist so something that is so fragile that could break if the wind blew near it.

As someone who has a diagnosed mental illness, I’m not against “self-diagnosing” sort of. Hell, before I got my diagnosis at 20, I sort of self diagnosed. The reason I did that is because when you go almost ten years of your life with no answers and you are seeing things and believing wild things, but you have no label you feel crazy. I wasn’t able to get a diagnosis as a teenager because my mom was emotionally abusive and the times that I did bring up getting help she didn’t believe me. So, when I would spend months depressed and it felt like it would never end and then my mood would shift and I would start seeing shadow men in the corner of my room, I googled for hours on end what could possibly be happening to me and finally landed on bipolar. This wasn’t just a one time google search and I was done. No, this was years of feeling like something was wrong and I would search in the moment to no answers then something else would happen and I would search again. Also, I believe that if someone goes down the self diagnosis path that they are not allowed to tell others that that’s what they have. I am no way saying that what these tiktokers do is right, but I’m not against self diagnosing in the aspect of researching more and then bring these concerns to a doctor when you are safely able to. For me, that wasn’t until I was 20 and at a breaking point. It landed me in a mental hospital and there I was diagnosed with bipolar 1. It was a relief in a since. I was sad that I had this lifelong disorder, but at least I had a name now for what was going on and I was finally going to receive treatment.

self diagnosing is most peoples first step to getting help. when i was young, i thought i had schizophrenia or bipolar because i had auditory/physical hallucinations and massive episodes where i just acted like a nutjob. my current diagnosis is in fact bipolar, although it’s debatable whether its a correct diagnosis considering i have a history of trauma. aka it could be borderline. or both as a comorbity. while self diagnosing can be harmful, its fine to just say “hey, theres something wrong with me and i need help”

Autism isn’t just “uwu!! funny!! wait i’m stimming hold up!!” it’s so much more than that anxiety isn’t “…uwu… hi.. i-i’m s-shy” like stfu btw self diagnosis is valid as long as it isn’t personality disorders or debilitating disorders OR physical disorders like scoliosis or sm shit

As someone with multiple metal disorders, I often find it frustrating when people tell me that my autism(one of the many disorders I have) is a superpower. No it’s more like a bunch of super weaknesses. Certain textures trigger me, especially in clothing. Imagine you have to wear an itchy wool sweater for a family picture, now amp that itchiness to eleven and pretend the sweater is made of sandpaper. Neurotypical people may be able to wear an itchy sweater for a few hours, but my brain makes it physically impossible to function when I’m over stimulated. My ADHD (combined ADHD) makes it hard to focus and makes me hyperactive, I’ve been called names, and it gets physically painful to not release all of the energy. And sometimes I can’t physically function. I am really intelligent, but I have been called stupid because I often cannot complete assignments or ramble off topic. OCD is something that is really difficult to live with. Getting irrationally stressed when something is not “perfect” isn’t the only thing that makes OCD hard to deal with. Sometimes I wash my hands until they are raw, I’m not germaphobic, it’s just my OCD. It also often makes me feel like I need to do things in intervals. Like whenever I Walt through a door, I turn the handle four times, I don’t physically have to, it’s just something that won’t stop. And when people say “oh, I’m depressed too, my package didn’t arrive on time for Christmas to give to my friends!” NO, you are not depressed, you are mildly inconvenienced, maybe even a little upset. And there is a difference between being depressed, and HAVING DEPRESSION, being depressed can last for maybe even a week. But having depression, is something that lasts for years, it doesn’t just stop. It’s crippling, I don’t let myself eat. But the only thing that is worse than people faking these disorders, or romanticizing them, it denying their existence. Denying the pain and suffering that these things cause. They are really hard to live with, and add so many more roadblocks to life. And it gets worse, when people make fun of that. (These aren’t even all of them, my hands hurt from typing, and I feel like I got my point across good enough.)

hate to break it to you but uh...something IS wrong with your brain if you have autism and adhd. it is a disorder, it is a disability. yea, autism and adhd are differences in the way people think but they are still disorders. even in their actual names theyre called disorders. like ASD, autism spectrum DISORDER. ADHD, attention defiect hyperactivity DISORDER. its not like someone calling your autism a disorder is a really, REALLY rude insult. its only the literal truth. oh and autism is a NEUREODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDER. NEUREO BASICALLY MEANS PART/PARTS OF YOUR BRAIN. anyway, this reminds me of that one goofy line dhar man always adds in every autism video he makes. that line is "its not a disability, its a different ability." which is again, completely wrong. autism is a disability, it *affects* how we learn and interact with people. it is not some very cool superpower to have. i know that for a fact cause i have it myself but that doesnt really matter here. anyway, im just gonna shorten what i just said. *autism and adhd are in fact disorders. its not an insult, only the truth.* hope this helps 😊

They think it makes up for the lack of personality. It's easier to pretend to have some disorders than to take the time and effort to build yourself a personality. That's why it's popular. They even have all these little symbols because they need to be quirky and special. Would I have a disorder, I wouldn't disclose it to strangers on the Internet. "As someone who has such and such..." no way you saw a professional. Even more, many of these weren't diagnosed before 25 30 years old. Before that, it's called being a teenager.
