It's potentially impossible to go back in time, due to many paradoxes, like the Grandfather Paradox, which basically involves the fact that if you go back in time and kill an ancestor, you wouldn't exist anymore, but that would result in you not being able to kill that ancestor, meaning it would have never happened in the first place. But travelling to the future is entirely possible, due to some physics stuff that I don't properly understand.

The folded time-space and funnel theory. Time travel is possible, in theory. The amount of energy required to break the barrier is insane and unpredictable. You basically need the levels of energy equivalent to the Big Bang concentrated in a small enough zone to break a dimensional hole in the time-space fold. Funnel theory as it’s called, is exactly what it sounds like. In the middle of the funnel is you, the observer. Above the funnel is the future, below the funnel is the past, and connecting the top and bottom of the funnel is the time-space barrier thing. I’m not big on physics, theory, or whatnot so take my word with a grain of salt, but funnel theory is about as straightforward as you can get. While it is possible, not rn as we don’t have anything to produce that much energy safely, you won’t be able to control when and where you end up. The thing is, that world is the same as yours. You’re not dimension hopping, you’re not traveling across the multiverse, you’re traveling back in time, literally. While other dimensions do exist, they’re generally on levels that are not related to time, for example the spiritual realm which is similar to ours, but we are unable to see it. It’s like layers to the same physical existence or world or whatever you call it. Breaking that barrier is more psychic in nature, while breaking the time-space barrier is more physical in nature. Don’t confuse dimensions with time and space. It’s complicated in reality, but just look up funnel theory for time and it’s very straightforward.
