@@tranquil-267 We needed Pant in the middle order to tackle left arm spinner especially in Dubai pitch considering dew. Its not possible to bring Samson here as Rahul has cemented his place in ODI and test with his sensible batting and more over His keeping skill are much better than Samson considering all his DRS calls. So if My guesses are right India will try Pant/KL depending on how the pitch is behaving only because of Pant being a leftie. You chose Varun over Kuldeep. Varun hasn't played ODI format consistently and it will back fire so Its really hard to pick him for ICC ODI tournament. How can we overlook Gill's 58 Average in ODI who has the highest average for India a Cricket is a competitive sport It not easy to bring in too many inexperienced players all of a sudden. we can try only few things and thats why selectors have chosen Jaiswal and see if he can make a debut if any mishap happens at the top order from Gill. Jaiswal deserved this debut in ODI considering his impeccable achievements in top order and He still don't have a spot in Playing X1 thats how competitive this game is. He will be purely a backup player considering Gill's 58 Average in ODI and Rohit being the Captain. Don't have to say what Rohit can do in white ball format. He is an absolute legend and He is our captain for a reason. On Karun Nair Management already said He has done well in VHT and if needed we can take him as a back up player in case of any injury. Also He hasn't played any competitive cricket & All he has done is played domestic all these year so Straight to ICC is not at all a good option. let him play bilateral and then get selected to ICC events through merit. Tilak and Nitish is very good Young prospect Im sure they will get their chances soon but over looking Virat and Hardik spot is not really wise as We need experience in ICC events. We all know how important VK and Rohit presence in the team for ICC events.

Because Sachin was given opportunity when he was 17 he could prove himself gradually at the international cricket. Who would have thought that Nitish could do so well in BGT at the time of his selection? I have observed Ramandeep in recently concluded Emerging Players Asia Cup Tournament. He is a gun fielder and tremendous hitter(has been replaced the injured NKR for the remaining T20s). Gill is awfully out of form. For me Rohit and Kohli is history as they are unable to score big.They must retire. KL has been a over rated player. Apart from that Perth Test, he was an utter failure in BGT. I have been watching cricket since 1988 and I had enjoyed the game of Kris Srikkanth and Ravi Shastri, Kapil Dev etc . I am not the selector of the cricket team. Based on my knowledge I have expressed my opinion.

@@tranquil-267 You are still riding on BGT series confused with formats. Yes sachin had an early break through but that was not the case now. We can’t give them opportunity by seeing one good season. The amount of talents we have we can’t really have just one team we would need two or three team in place but all we can do is pick 15 for ICC events. All these young guns should be tried in bilateral before playing any ICC tournaments it’s basic common sense. I’m a big fan of Ramandeep, Nitish and Thilak too but I feel the squad that was picked for CT is the proven one considering it’s a ODI format. I can’t Make You understand if You want to go on circles confused with formats.
