Looks amazing. Totally agree with doing sill first for water shedding, but the top and sides can be last to make the cuts on the mosaic less important/finicky. As well as making the vertical corners hidden by the side pieces. Doesn’t matter much with this particular mosaic, but in using glass, pebbles, and round small mosaic, etc., not having to worry about those cut edges makes the installation a bit easier.

Do you leave a slope on bottom part for water to slide out? If you did, can it be done by adding more thinset on back and less on front? Do you have to cut bottom sides in an angle to fit the bottom?
@LandbergTileTV

Yes, slope for water shed and yes, side tiles are cut at an angle

Can you please consider showing the caulking that’s done on plane changes in corners, and or tub sill to tile wall transition. It’s one of the items I struggle most with as a DIYer.

I always use color matched caulk in corners, inside niche, between pan and finished tile. Grout won't stay put in corners and it's also difficult to get enough grout in those areas to get the desired amount. Also you need a little flexibility in those areas because they will move and grout just won't stretch or compress. I don't know that this helped you at all but there's my two cents

I read is better to install bottom first, so water doesn't get inside. Silicon starts failing and water gets in.

So do you caulk the shluter miters? I know you want them tight but if miters are perfect then there's no room to get any kind of grout or caulk in there. Just seems like water traps. If you leave room then you don't have tight miters but you have a more secure shower. Make them tight so it looks correct and water will always get in there. What's the correct way? Better function or better look?

Very clean and effective installs, you are definitely an inspiration for my work. Hey question, do you still use your 7inch delta saw aka 7 inch dewalt😆, I dont see you using it that much. I am thinking about getting a smaller more portable saw. Is it your number choice for a 7inch guided saw? Thank you.

Unfortunately for me a 12” tall niche isnt big enough for most womens tall ass shampoo bottles with pumps on top. 14” is barely enough room so im doing mine currently at 16”. Notching the tiles above is worth the extra space. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Edit: I always check with my customers to be sure their products will fit in the niche we build. Nothing worse than all that hard work to find out they cant use it effectively.
