For those wondering - certain hammer drills have a toggle where you can have the machine hammer _without_ drilling (spinning). Before you go out and buy or rent one, make sure the drill allows you to choose the function. A few that I saw are hammer+drill _ONLY_, but others are hammer+drill or just hammer.
@tedlearner6951 Жыл бұрын
My drill has that option. One symbol that has Screw sign, and another with mallet. If in the mallet mode, it spins? Its probably like what you have? Thank you.

LOL.....this is a pain in the ass, but I'm sure anyone over 50 remembers when EVERY family would do the demolition themselves. The Bosch HS1465 Tile Chisel works a lot faster. It gets under the tiles and pops up many of them without breaking. It works on any sds plus drill with stop rotation. They also make a 4 inch version for sds max hammers.

A 1500w hammer drill for this type of job is worth its weight in gold. I bought a hard hat with ear muffs and safety visor to cover my whole face. Bits of tile fly all over the place so you have to protect yourself. I used a gardening kneel pad to aid working at low gravity where their was stacks of broken tile. I just kept sweeping the big broken bits of tile tile away from me. I also wore workmen gloves to manually shift tiles out of the way without cutting my hands to shreds. It also helps prevent blisters as hammer drills are heavy after a while.
