Tiller vs Centre Console vs Side Console - What is best for a 4.2 metre Tinnie? Quintrex 420 BUSTA

Yeah, another modification, more tweaking to make a great boat even better...I wasn't real happy with the existing seating position...and thinking about putting in a Steering Console...I decided to go through the exercise using a mock-up console, to determine the benefits and...drawbacks.

Thanks for your very kind words…appreciated. And I’m about to do a turnaround from my tiller steer argument…and in the process of changing to side console…plus some other major changes to the boat …hope you’ll follow me on the next journey of boat improvements.

My boat is set up similar to your previous Angler Pro and I prefer the side console. It also shifts more of the weight towards the front where your visibility is improved.

Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated…and yes visibility is better with a higher seating position. I still prefer my tiller…and have a new pedestal which is 100mm higher.

Don't forget that your tiller handle has radial adjustment so you don't have to overreach for right turns. For comfort & control

I have the Renegade 440 side console best decision I ever made. Heaps of room.

Take that cardboard console, glue it together after removing the duct tape, and the fiberglass it. Once it goes off, clean out the cardboard and finish it off with some gel coat

Ive been considering a console for my 4.3m tinny latley, might have to make up a console out of cardboard and play with the configuration myself now

It's cheaper than buying a proper console and finding that it doesn't work for you. I converted my 424 Anglapro to CC then moved the console to side(after cutting 400mm off it... CC really makes the boat feel smaller...great for choppy waters and long distances...

DUDE get a piston on your seat pedistol so it goes up n down... that way you adjust you chair hight to the tiller angel.... NO CONSOLE!!!! takes too much room!!!! CHEERS 🤙🤙🤙... MOE

My recent videos on the Busta 420 rebuild show what I’ve done. I've been looking at these GANAT swing away consoles. I've only just found Gary's KZbin demo on them. They look great and give you so much room. I'm looking at a 440 Busta and hope to install one of these GANAT consoles.

Yeah tiller steering does have some disadvantages…I’m actually in the process of changing from tiller to side console…
