doesnt nearly get the attention he deserves. easily one of the greatest and most distinctive drummers that ever lived.

with former Major Lingo bandmate Linda Cushma. Attention Deficit with Michael Manring and Alex Skolnick, A Perfect Circle which recorded the opening track on Mer De Noms (The Hollow as seen in your videos) and he also played drums live with them on their frist club tour before the 1st album came out, His band Laundry was an opening act. I think that about does it for my rudimentary biography of Tim. Tim if you see this and i forgot something I'm sorry!!

great stuff from one of the truly great drummers of all time especially the nineties he's not a very outspoken person is rather quiet and very reserved.... but it gets the job done you know everything he's done he's always bent on the top of his game. I'm always been interested in listening to what he has to say about drumming cuz there's not a lot out there about him and this was a great video a lot of insight into his mind and it's very interesting and I enjoyed it god bless you and good luck with Primus

I would say that Tim popularized the style of drumming that most metal drummers use now. He was one of the first to use his bass drum as his leads of his parts. Before him everyone held fast leads like that on toms or ride cymbals.

days while he was playing the back up band for the Blue Man Group in Las Vegas. I also happen to be an aquaintence of my personal hero growing up and i can tell you he's a great guy, great all around musician, and just fun to hang out with. and just having read back what i wrote, in reference to Fata Morgana, on the record, Tim recorded all parts himself. Live he was backed up by Fred Green. I also forgot to mention his involvement with numerous other recording projects. Such as Dalmation Car

Herb, Carey, Portnoy, Beauford the best 4 Rock Drummers of the 90's with out a doubt, they all have made there make in drum history, Smith, Cameron, Groul, Chamberlin, Mantia would be who i place after... and Kinney from Alice n Chains jus my opinion for only 90's Rock.
@BonnotAR9 жыл бұрын
shit, chamberlin is much more creative and interesting than portnoy when it comes to drumming.

parts for, and live, was backed by a local AZ band, Fred Green. Tim played guitar and sang for the group (Fata Morgana). also Tim hates the nickname "Herb" tho the moniker has stuck with him despite his efforts to change it. Les even addressed the issue at one point and still it sticks around and les was the one who gave it to him in the 1st place. A lot of this information is both from the 2 published MD articles on him, the 1st being his cover story from the Pork Soda era and the 2nd was post

Tim and Les did NOT meet at Berklee. They met in the baay area of California. at the time, tim had moved there with the band Major Lingo from AZ and he remains friends with the members of that band to this day. He was doing dbl time playing in Primus and Major Lingo when the latter decided to pack it up and move back to AZ. Tim took the gamble and stuck with Primus. Also Laundry disbanded some time ago, over 10 yrs ago i THINK. he did form another band called Fata Morgana that recorded all the
