there's several points where i genuinely cannot tell if what i'm hearing is tim's voice or an instrument... insane. there was simply no other like him, and never will be.

I've been looking for Buckley bootlegs (esp. from the Starsailor period) extensively for the last couple days, and here I find that a whole concert has just been posted! Thanks a lot! Edit: The quality is pretty good, too... Still, no wonder he lost his audience if he went this crazy in the first gig with his new band already lol

Wow what a treasure, I always enjoy Tim Buckley, though Starsailor took me a while to get into. It’s one of those albums that gets better every time you listen to it. Thanks for posting this, I’ve been looking for these performances.

I see you've read Underwood's Blue Melody bio/memoir? I was lucky enough to have Lee sign my copy :)

Incredibly grateful for this bootleg. How on earth did you acquire this?! I'm shocked that it's of decent quality as well... Tim is a genius, plain and simple.

I genuinely do not remember where I downloaded it from. Just got lucky I think.

@@Witregel After hearing this I’ve been trying to find more bootlegs from this era and I actually think I found the website you got it from. Unfortunately I haven’t found any that haven’t already been posted but I’m asking around now.

I feel like once you can crack Starsailor, it becomes the greatest thing you've ever heard. The music is so advanced it just takes a couple of tries.

Love this version of down by the borderline- better than the album version I think.

BORDERLINE sounds even more out there than on the album . Was he watching Tarzan movies on drugs ?

How was he able to do starsailor live? Did he play a the track and also sing? It’s incredible

Tim might have been sing harmonizing/ riffing with someone playing tha vocals from tha recording with a saxophone.... maybe , need to listen a few times
@m.f.57399 ай бұрын
My guess would be that the backing vocals are played on tape(s) at the beginning, later there seem to be also some horns. Not sure though.

Kudos to Buckley bravely committing commercial suicide with an avante garde I-don’t give-a-damn-if-you-like-it attitude. But this is tough stuff to digest, unless you think Yoko Ono’s insane horrible self indulgent excursions with John Lennon is your cuppa tea,

Piss off with your Yoko hatred. This is an extension of what she was already doing. I love Tim, but I love Yoko too, because they are/were both extraordinary artists.

@@johnkerskine924 Yoko's brilliant. Many people can't see through her appearance, or her influence on John. She kept his artistry alive.
