I saw the London performance on the opening night (before the proper one with celebrities) and the whole audience absolutely loved it. We even cheered the chap who sweeped the stage during the interval. Best bit was the end when we all stood up and cheered the cast who looked very taken aback by the audience's huge response. It was fantastic.

@martinsorenson105511 ай бұрын
Funny. It was $11 million. The Original, NY version. With that cast, director it had to be hefty. Even so, they used the money when they needed to, for a good gag and then when the gag called for cheapness, they did that too.
@imisstoronto312110 жыл бұрын
i understand they did the song "you won't succeed on broadway......" a little differently than the original. The original was a howl, but i;d like to see the revised version. Do you have it?
@lastbloke9 жыл бұрын
I can't find it anywhere! Because we don't have the big Jewish financier thing over here, they took those references out and changed the song to "You won't succeed in showbiz if you haven't got a star". I've seen the show twice now, and the first time (about two years ago) is was really lame, but I saw it again a month ago and they've rewritten it. It was hilarious this time around. The theatre were selling soundtrack CDs, so I would guess it will be on there. Hope that helps...!
@imisstoronto31219 жыл бұрын
Richard Cook We don't laugh because of the 'big jewish financier". We laugh because Jews are hugely involved in show business and theatre, from composers, musicians, lyricists, writers, producers etc and yes some financiers.

I was quite unsure this musical was going to be any good before it premiered. I thought....."oh dear, don't touch the brilliant film the Pythons (all of them) made"; but then I saw it and... well it is a top job. Although I have to say that the original cast was the best choice of actors. Here in London recent choices are a bit....wrong. It is damaging the musical.
@eleanorpowell200716 жыл бұрын
It seems to work, only problem is all the new main casting, the musical itself remains very popular, but the new actors are....ahem, not the best choice. It might damage the musical quite soon.
