I keep coming back to this song. I really love the vocal harmony and the singing of Eliana Athayde. There's a strange combination of freshness and world-weariness in her voice. Lovely.

this song pushed me over the edge, I know some might scoff at me feeling old at 34 but it's been fucking tough, man. the words don't come like they used to, much love to all and if you're struggling with aging, you aren't alone
@rlm4471Ай бұрын
In the mid 30s, most people aren't really declining much, but you're on the brink of it, and that can be frightening. A word of advice from someone who has been through it - from now on, the phrase "use it or lose it" will really start to take effect in your body and mind. You could have at least 30 healthy, productive years left if you take care of yourself, or you could start falling apart now if you don't.

@rlm4471Ай бұрын
@horrorgardener The previous generations faded away to make space for you, and you'll do the same for the next generation. The whole thing moves forward one funeral at a time. The older I get, the less attached I feel to the idea of me as the center of everything. It feels very liberating to be a bit more free of the burden of self and the pressure that comes with it. These changes can be scary, but only to the extent that you hold onto a fixed idea of who you are and what you do. If you relax your grip and let yourself change, it can be wonderful.

I ran into this because I get the label email.. this record label is probably the only record company I could ever sign up to if I had sellable music… my songs are ok but they are not market material, strictly narrow appeal. I’ve been trying to make a 45 single record for years… about 40!!! Don’t think it’s going to happen this late in the game. This is so good though and they got it right away. I have this song writing exercise where I write a song the first time I play it… it’s like a improvised demo…
