You must be stoked we can see the light at the end of the tunnel... I am!!! Great video. I really love how you are educating us on more than just the business. I wanted to take my Luckin cup to Starbucks today... Tims looks like a video game arcade.

I keep thinking it's the light and then it turns out to be one of those lamps on the side of the tunnel and there's still a few miles lol. But it's coming! I know it is, so at this point I'm just having fun making content about it until that day Bloomberg writes an article saying "Luckin Coffee Failed!!!!......Oh wait, no it didn't! It's revived! Man We Suck At Reporting!" You totally should take your Luckin cup to Starbucks lol. Also it kind of IS a video game arcade. Yet I asked them if I could host a smash bros tournament there and they said no because it's not Tencent related. I told them Nintendo is partnered with Tencent in China, and he's like, "..........oh."

Another great video! Appreciate all the education on China, if you listened to the media here, you would think the country was collapsing. Would love to see a comparison graphic at some point of five or six of the "hottest" coffee stores' cost of a standard cup of coffee. Looking forward to a trip to the tier three city!
@thejamescorwin3 жыл бұрын
That's a huge reason I wanted to make this channel. All the media I see likes to heavily politicize things for clicks, and no one seems to talk about just the day to day experience of life here. I've written down your idea, and you'll be certain to see it mentioned in a future video! Thanks for the suggestion.

It looks like they made the interior swanky but kept the food and coffee mediocre lol. Not much people inside. Would I be right in that the Chinese donuts are much softer/fluffier than the western (Tim’s) ones?
@thejamescorwin3 жыл бұрын
It was a weekday. I was on summer break, so I had off at that time. I imagine it'll be busier other days. The donuts were actually harder/not fluffier than I'm used to, although to be honest I've never been to Tim's outside China before lol.

You are my hero! I love your videos and those were some incredible facts that puts the size and potential of the Chinese coffee market into perspective. Luckin claims to be profitable for the last few months which shows their business model works. Once they resume their rapid expansion the sky is the limit. If I were a betting man I would say they will be the largest market cap coffee stock on the planet in 15 years.

im an average chinese person from a lil suburb in a big city so a couple of tim hortons suddenly sprung up in the city. ive never been abroad but im obsessed with everything western except for starbucks cuz chinese ppl go to starbucks mostly to show off which is disgusting. i just never like that place for that reason. plus yeah its overpriced for us. anyways i began obsessed with tim hortons, not many ppl know about it atm. i tried mocha, it was soo sweet but i liked it. second time i tried latte or something, was just a typical cup of coffee, i cant tell the difference between that and kfc's coffee tbh. i was actually kinda disappointed cuz it was expensive lol. i'd say its not worth its price. i tried mushroom bagel there, it tasted worse than bread costs one-third of its price. the second time i went it was so disappointing. anyways i would "experiment" for a couple more times, probably wont try donuts there. well gotta say this is so *middle class*. i'd spend more than i should have on this novelty until i finally got tired of it. its definitely not sustainable to frequent such coffee shop for an average chinese citizen. anyways thanks for ur review. now i understand that here in china its all we can get. domestic food is fine, caters chinese ppl, awesome. exotic food? hmmm.... gotta be in an exotic country to taste authentic local food.
@thejamescorwin3 жыл бұрын
First off, your English is amazing. Second, what city are you from out of curiosity? I’m not surprised you’re disappointed with Tim Hortons. How come you don’t want to try the donuts though? And as for bagels, I’ve had plenty of quality bagels in Shenzhen and Shanghai, so I can’t imagine it’s worth going to a chain like Tim’s. Anyway, thanks for your comment, it’s cool to know Chinese people are enjoying my videos as well!
