One of the little wrinkles I really loved was one of Caleb's first screens, he positioned the ball so it spun Swift away from contact, even though it was a bit behind him. But if Caleb had led him, he would have been blown up by the defender. So making that quick of a show and being able to protect your guy with some nuance at the same time is a great sign. Fields also looks way better this year, with a competent O-Line. So there's that.

Throwing for not even 150 yards is way better 😂

I never seen a rookie so hated or get as much blame as Williams has in 2 games. Bryce Young was horrific first year and he pretty much was treated as this toddler needed of protection.
@reimagedmedia1955Ай бұрын
Young has highschool level talent around him...Caleb has 3 #1 WRs and an offensive line and cast that Fields was able to almost make the playoffs. CW is 0-11 2 INTs on passes over 15 yards... Young also wasn't compared to Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck as CW is rated as coming out of college
@waynesonneman7343Ай бұрын
This is what happens when a rookie was hyped up so much as Williams has been since the day he was drafted. Everyone promised that Williams will be different and up to this point hasn’t even come close to being that.

I appreciate that Jenkins address the protection issue first and foremost then the play calling. Sure Williams makes the "typical" rookie mistakes that everyone thought he wouldn't make but we assumed the o-line was at least mediocre.... It's at the bottom half of the league.

This Sunday vs the Colts we will run into a team with a physical tuff hardnosed offensive line. The Colts are banged up on both sides of the ball but DO NOT underestimate the Colts
@matthewlewis5198Ай бұрын
Yes man I was saying this too. The colts are not a cake walk at all. The colts have a good defensive line that can put pressure on you. Although they are banged up and AR is inconsistent they’re still a tough team. I’m a Texans fan and they gave them everything they could handle week 1.
@paulguillory6147Ай бұрын
@@matthewlewis5198true, but Richardson isn’t really accurate. I see our defense getting 3 picks or a couple of fumbles. Hopefully Caleb doesn’t do the same lol
@matthewlewis5198Ай бұрын
@@paulguillory6147 yeah Richardson is inaccurate and inconsistent, but in all fairness neither is Caleb right now so scoring points is tough right now for the bears especially with no run game. Hopefully y’all’s defense can take advantage and score some points again this week. Cause man that defense is crazy good I have to say.
@paulguillory6147Ай бұрын
@@matthewlewis5198 that’s true, I just think once Caleb throws is first TD he’ll be more comfortable and relax. He had WRs drop sure TDs in the first game and Rome in the second
@matthewlewis5198Ай бұрын
@@paulguillory6147 this is true. He also missed a lot throws that could’ve been touch downs. I think those are the things that worry me the most with Caleb along with bad decisions. He should’ve thrown 3 picks but one got called back. I know he’s a rookie and he definitely needs time to process and get used to the game, and I do hope he plays a lot better this week cause I want him to succeed. Cause like I said that defense is pretty damn good you gotta take advantage of having that on your side.

Caleb isn't the real problem, get that OL together, somehow, get a OL leader. The run game suck to because of the OL also. The Bears can become a very good team if you correct the OL. Houston won by 6. 2 field goals. Houston pick to go deep, and all that went wrong for the Bears. They should have been blown out by 30. I predict if they get that OL together, the crush teams. They must get that OL together. They cannot wait until the Draft. As much as i wanted to save picks. They may have to give up 2 picks and maybe 2 players. 2 veteran OL men.

@samburns4761 Fans are notoriously bad at dissecting the source of problems with the offense. I listen to Tim Jenkins breakdowns and he likes a lot of Waldrons plays but he thinks the players are not executing it properly. His main critiscism is that Waldron should mix up the formations but still keep same plays. Most fans don't even know how to decipher formation versus different play. Fans are dumb and I don't listen to them.

This is being spoken about like the Mossad distributing explosive pagers to Hezbollah. The NFL is a copycat league. My teenage son is an elite Madden player and has to make adjustments to beat his opponents. This is not Neuralink, its effing football. The line was bad, but the defense called plays that they thought the line/Caleb/wrs could not exploit. They were correct. Caleb has an amazing arm, is athletic and showed toughness. That said, the critiques in his scouting film...that he can play "hero ball" but is not good at long, sustained drives has been evident in the pre season and the first 2 games. Hopefully he will figure it out.
