Those people did not watch the Knicks last year, they casually watched the Knicks. The Knicks have a team of guys prone to injuries, they need all the top players they can get. And Randle is probably up there with Jalen Brunson in terms of ability to dominate his individual matchup and attract double teams. The last aspect is very hard to get in the nba, a player who opposing teams have to double team to stop him from scoring.

Randle is in prime shape and plays well with Jalen and the other Nova guys so why trade him! Also reasonable contract and who would they replace him with. Need him now more, as IH is not coming back!

It’s not about hating Randle, it’s about his overall fit on the team, and what type of team is trying to be built. I’ve never been a fan of his game personally, aesthetically to the basketball eye, his game is ugly as hell. The game is moving away from undersized, with short arms and no vertical lift PF’s. Ball and body movement is where the game is. Multiple long and athletic Wings are what moves the needle now. He’s shown that he is more of a regular season player, who puts up decent numbers when the lights aren’t as bright. He’s either hurt or non effective during the playoffs because now teams focus on his weaknesses, and he’s unable to adjust. My final take on Randle is that I would run it back with him this upcoming season, do not even think about giving him any extensions before the season starts or before next seasons trade deadline. If he is one of the reasons that we reach the ECF and advance to the Finals then I’d say extend him.

There was no gap between a healthy Knicks team and the Boston Celtics. Now the Knicks that finished the season which was half of their team there was a gap in that. But the Knicks healthy was already the better team. These announcers forget that the Knicks was playing with their bench in the second half of the season. Not their starters. And they were one game away from the conference finals. So to say that there was this big gap between the Knicks and Celtics is simply not true at all. The Knicks was actually better than the Celtics before they lost half their roaster to injuries. Getting Mikal only widens the gap between the Knicks and Celtics with the Knicks being above them. If the Knicks can avoid significant injuries this season. I will be proven correct. Go back and look at the Knicks vs Celtics in January before Julius Randle got hurt and they had their starting lineup outside of missing Mitchel Robinson. Blew them boys out.

Knicks been losing for so long as soon as they become relevant they overpay for 2 guys who are like the 3rd and 4th option. Paying 0G $42.5 million a year for the being the 4th option is insane. He was literally the 4th option or coming off the bench in Toronto and could never stay healthy. Also giving up that much trade assets for a non all-star player in Bridges just seems desperate.
