Played this song at my grandfather’s funeral. I wished I visited him more than I did I still regret it. Kids if you have a grandma and grandpa tell them you love them and care for them every day, because one day they will become a memory and you can’t change a memory.

Im 42, sitting on the front porch of the old 1930s house my papaw built in the mountains of east Tennessee. He and mamaw are long gone now. The same trees are here in the front yard, the same blackberries are ripe right now, the long gravel driveway hasnt been altered. I left it as close to how it was when I moved in. I sure do miss them- the kindest and funniest woman I ever knew and the quiet, most hardworking old man he was.

This was a night I will never forget. I was background at the American Country Awards for Tim McGraw. There were so many levels to this experience that still make me smile. I remember hearing the song for the first time and I cried. When I got to set I had no idea what the project was and the idea of being on the stage terrified me and another actor offered their words of encouragement and I stayed. (Walking down the set of stairs with an arena filled with people and me tripping was my hang up!) My friend Mark Dennis happened to be in there project working and also assured me I would be fine. Angels come in many forms, and he is now both. There was also the power of being in stage and hearing all those people clap, and the power of positive energy was a amazing. I then understood how entertainers are fueled by this. Tim McGraw was so humble and kind to all of us. A few weeks later we all received a thank you note, bracelets and a shirt that said, “Remain Humble and Kind” I had posted it somewhere on Facebook and a total stranger commented how that song kept her alive. I ended up sending her the items. The greatest lesson, words and actions truly have an impact.

@@timmcgraw5215 I have been nomadic most of my life. I lived on the Navajo Reservation around 2000 and worked in a trading post and the owner introduced me to your music which he played. When I moved to Las Vegas I was studying belly dancing and listening to salsa around 2016. So when I stood on that stage, it was the first time I heard that song and it touched my soul to the core. You are truly amazing as a person and a musician. PS I lived in Arizona in 1980 after my Dad bought and lost a Brahma bull ranch. I was introduced to Bob Wills and to this day I love that old school country. I remember hearing you honor Mr Wills!
