Great performance of a great composition. All three of his trio albums are excellent.

This is wonderful. I’m just discovering Tim Miller. What tune is this? I think I saw another vid of Andre Nieri playing this with a Brazilian band - Braguinha on bass and some sick drummer. Presumably it’s an old standard that they’re riffing on but I don’t know? Tim Miller’s soloing is next level. He’s so at ease. Manages to push the boundaries but still let the listener know where they are in the head. What good are chops if the listener doesn’t know where they are? I’ll definitely be diving deeper into his stuff. I’m a drummer and a bass player but I feel there’s a lot to be learned from the way this guy approaches the genre and how he leads a band. Gush over.

Correction, Andre Nieri is playing a similar tune but not the same (also in 12/8 or in 4 with a shuffle feel if you prefer that description). Very cool and worth checking out. I’ll post a link if I can figure it out. Andre Nieri also solos beautifully. Has obviously observed the bebop greats but isn’t defined by it.

I had no idea Vladimir Putin played the drums that well.... Seriously though this is some top shelf musicianship on this stage here.
