I think he _knew_ it wasn't the rest of the song. The moves he started doing at 6:08 are a weeee little bit too similar to the dance moves used in the Pope Song animation to be a coincidence.

I liked your idea about writing your thoughts down instead of interrupting. Also, no...... being attracted to pre-pubescent children of either sex isn't 'gay'; technically or otherwise. It's called paedophilia. Paedophiles aren't attracted to men or women, they are attracted to children. There's a whole field of scientific research on it. In the same way, men who are attracted to baby girls aren't considered 'straight'. They're paedophiles too.

agreed. There was a scholar who defined the two types.......scholar was from the US? I can't remember. But paedophiles are sexually attracted to and aroused by prepubescent children - and boys are generally targeted due to accessibility rather than their gender (remember prepubescent kids generally look very similar in shape). Haebophiles are sexually attracted to and aroused by those who have commenced or completed their puberty - these kids are usually in their teens. And by haebophiles I do not include those that are of or almost of the same age, ie young love. There was a famous case here in Australia where a young adult (19???) was convicted of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse (statutory rape in US) and was forced to be on the ANCOR or sex offender's register for life. It related to his 16 yo girlfriend who had a completely consensual intimate relationship with him. IIRC her parents got salty over their relationship and got police involved. Age of consent in most states in Australia is 17 (a couple of states 16, not in the state in question), or 18 in a position of authority. There was outrage as the legislation was not intended to target young love, but a certain type of adults who target children for their own sexual gratification.
@MzyraJ
@MzyraJ 4 жыл бұрын
I think there are some out there who also aren't attracted to teen/children's bodies per se, but who get off on having power, or who want to do things that basically no adult will consent to but they can intimidate or manipulate the young and innocent into enduring without telling on them. It's all so awful for the victims :(

you mixed 2 seperate points of the song. He denounces those in the church who bystander effect look passed peados and the second part is because the church doesn't recognise those attracted to the same sex, both different issues.
@anserbauer309
@anserbauer309 Жыл бұрын
@@unforgiven642 No. My comment refers to the comments by the reactor immediately after the song concludes (8:41) where he literally says: "in order for them to molest little boys, they have to be attracted to boys, right? That technically is gay, ain't it?". Followed up by "of course that's a joke guys.... don't get too overly offended or some shit." I'm not 'overly offended'; but nor do I think it's 'a joke'. Afterall, it remains the mainstay of anti LGBTQ movements around the world to label the community as 'groomers', 'paedophiles' and a general risk to children.

About "being special". I had this conversation once about how others thought I thought I was "special". The reason why they thought that was because I take it upon myself to try and improve, to BE BETTER. To do better. To understand more. I laughed. "No, I do that shit because I KNOW I am not special. There are 7 billion of us in this world. I want to justify my own god damned existence. I want to earn my share of the oxygen." Enough said.

i'm not big on reaction videos and i definitely don't watch 20 plus minute reactions. however i started listening to your take on the song and on different aspects and didn't want to leave. your grasp on life, and how people in general put so much weight on their personal value in the world is usually on par with how little they value others especially if those people don't quite look like them. for someone who looks as young as you do i'd say you're well beyond your years. and if this is how your reaction videos end with imparted knowledge on other aspects in life i'll probably be watching your channel more regularly. that is if i can find the time : )

Devon Da Vinci, what a beautiful young man you are, and I loved watching this! I know it's old now, but as a Minchin fan, it caught me. Know he raised a ton of money with this and 'Come Home Cardinal Pell', to help survivors get to testify, and covered legal fees. It is still raising money for them. Tim has been married to Sarah, his first girlfriend, and his latest, through his massive game, is 'I'll Take Lonely Tonight's! 😄👏💗☮️🎃🐝

Just found this video now and I must say, I'm impressed. One of the first reaction channels where the reaction is longer than the video being reacted to, respect! That said, your thoughts on the subject are interesting and intelligent. Side note, the bit you said about humans not being special and not having a reason for being and that being a good thing is called 'optimistic nihilism'. There is no higher purpose, no bigger "meaning of life". That is not sad. That is freedom. That means you get to make your own meaning, set your own goals. Your own purpose. You can be you and do you. I must also praise how hard you push on the importance of holding others accountable. That is how we move forward and improve as a society. We hold each other accountable and we make the world a better place together. Much love from Sweden

"your destiny is as big as you make it, you have opportunities, go and take them." Didn't we just talk about people getting corrupt? That's EXACTLY what those people were doing! DON'T take every opportunity that you can get if it does more bad than right, DON'T think only about your career and about your gains. It's more about holding yourself to as high of a standard as others, or even higher and not thinking about the opportunites. When you are in those positions we are talking about, where you are regarded as "sacred" and people put faith in you, it is way more about keeping yourself from drifting off the right path, than it is about taking opportunities!

As stated below, this song is about Pope Francis protecting Cardinal Pell who hails from Australia. There were two concurrent cases at the time. One was where the prosecution had to withdraw all charges after the court ruled crucial evidence inadmissible. The one that went to trial he was convicted on. There it appealed eventually to the High Court (equivalent to US Supreme Court) where Cardinal Pell was acquitted on an unsafe verdict of guilt. The case hinged on untested written evidence of one victim (who had committed suicide before Pell was arrested), and the evidence of one witness - the other victim. Defence argued impossibility on the basis that Pell was never alone and could never have done the act (bullshit). However, the finding was good law as the HCA essentially stated (and I'm cutting a lot of corners here) that a finding in the favour of untested evidence is too dangerous to make a finding of guilty BRD. What infuriated everyone was Pope Francis' blithe passive-aggressive comment about people being tried and imprisoned for something they didn't do....after the acquittal at the HCA. There was a case to answer, it went through the initial jury court, Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeal, and then the High Court. If he didn't do it (as in being innocent as was inferred), it would have been stayed a long time beforehand. There was a Royal Commission into the abuse of children under the hands of catholic schools, orphanages, etc here with horrific findings. Those findings relating to Pell were suppressed until the outcome of the High Court decision. I haven't seen them yet, but they would be damning. An evil man. I cannot see how he gave through pure altruism; he gave only to satisfy his narcissistic wants, power acquisition, and glory. * steps off from soapbox and creeps back into the crowd to hide *

That's around 2 and a half hours times 4 days a week, So I decided to stop procrastinating and started learning karate myself. Hey, at least now I exercise and don't have to find extra time because I'm already there! Time is what we make of it. It's always possible to find time, if one is willing.

A huge case in Australia of the protection of a Cardinal hiding in Vatican city rather than coming home to reveal what information he had. Such a mess. Eventually the prosecution got too eager and didn't have substantial legitimately obtained evidence and the Cardinal had his sentence overturned. Such a tragedy after we celebrated his conviction.

Dude. If you have access to Xfinity, they offer 1G. I am pulling 976 right now. Some people have trouble with the company, I have not. Just FYI.

Adult men being attracted to boys is not necessarily indicative of homosexuality. The attraction is usually more about age than sex, the sex of the victim is usually secondary.

it's a real shame you 've missed the whole spoken word part/discussion that goes before this song, about the sacredness of objects and holy Quran.

kinda disappointed you didn't watch the full version of this. first time I heard the pope song, and I came to it after rewatching Come Home (Cardinal Pell) in light of his arrest for pedophilia, it had this full speech about what makes an object sacred. would love to have seen your reaction to that speech, since I enjoyed it even more than the song tbh. PS if you wanted to see it, react, do a video on it, it's here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKqmaKOfesegh68
