I guess you don't really know anger until someone goes FULL ORCHESTRAL on your a**! LOL This was epic cinematic evil - much like the use of _'Oh Fortuna'_ in the movie Omen! I thought that the hidden 'chorus line' audience watching it all unfold from the darkness, was a beautiful nod to public nature of internet beefs. SO well done! Ren portrays his raw anger and frustration so adeptly that it translates immediately. This piece is adrenal... absolutely visceral... and I'm sure he must have got huge catharsis out of it! We get to see yet another side of Rens performance - and once again, he absolutely nails it! Kujo, if you're watching man, it's time to reach out and repair this. You just broke one of the nicest most upright guys in music. Words have failed so far, so Rens *showing* you the frustration he feels - but, if I know Ren, one genuine word from you could still fix this. Do the right thing man. Let's put this to bed.

For those who don’t know. Ren bought a beat from Kujo through Beatstars for the song Sick Boi. The contract was with his publishers and didn’t include any royalties from the master or streaming services. The Kujo wanted to get paid for his beat, but instead of talking to Ren about it he put a copyright strike on Sick Boi. Then there was a long back and forth between Ren, Kujo, and his girlfriend. Kujo was wanting a cut of the master and retroactive payments. Ren refused because of the idea that he had purchase unlimited use of the beat. Ren even went so far as to offer to do a colab with Kujo and split the proceeds just to resolve the issue. Kujo refused and the discussions deteriorated. So Ren has taken down Sick Boi, and will rerelease it with his own beats, and now is releasing a new song called Kujo Beat Down. There is more to this story and Ren tells his side of it in a very long video on his channel.

I love that you love the musical arraingments on this one! Given the subject matter of the song, Ren specifically composed the beats for this one himself!
@TheMrfluffi3 ай бұрын
It's more complex than that. If what Kujo claims is true (and given he has a lawyer I have to imagine is working on percentage of settlement there must be at least some real or technicality validity) Ren may have violated the contract months ago with how it was uploaded to KZbin (Ren even admits this in his video as an honest mistake) and either that or the selections/paperwork Ren did might be why Beatstars isn't paying Kujo and why he's spent months trying to chase this with Ren's lawyer (which, despite Ren saying you should have reached out to me, I know I would reach out to celebrities representatives first and once in talks with them would assume they are passing on details to their client). In those circumstances I can understand wanting to renegotiate the contract to compensate for months of hassle, and that the promise that sometime in the future we will do a colab doesn't help with expenses right now.

Where in Hi Ren the positive side takes control at the end, this time the positive side just had to say 'F*** it'. Sometimes you just have to let that bad boy out whether you want to or not. I thought the condescending pat on the head at the end was priceless. Legally, Ren was sold a broken product. Trying to then demand more money from it just beggars belief. Elizabeth, the string piece you are thinking of is Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki's "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima" which he wrote in 1960. Its original title was 8'37" (a reference to John Cage's famous silent piece, 4'33", which had premiered in 1952). Then Penderecki changed the title to "Tren" which means "Threnody" in English. And then he changed the title again to the title it retains today "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima", though he's clear that this title came after the piece was already composed and that the music was not directly inspired by or directly a response to the bombing of Hiroshima. Whatever you call it, it's a great piece that evokes horror and anger better than most. You have a sharp ear to make the connection between the strings in Ren's song and Penderecki's classic so quickly.

I've been watching these reactions all day and the support for Ren is incredible. One of the things about life that I find so hopeless is the fact that everywhere you look, evil prospers. I don't mean that in the biblical sense, I mean that everyone says what goes around comes around but I never see it. I just see injustice and people doing shitty things and karma never biting them in the ass. It hurts my heart to see what happened to Ren and this isn't perfect justice, which would have been Kujo never doing the copywrite strike and Kujo taking responsibility for the part he stole from the choir, or even Kujo doing the right thing at any point after. But seeing how Ren handled this from start to finish and seeing how the community has backed Ren and stood by him is a sort of justice. Im so sorry it came to this but it's inspiring to see how Ren took the high road and then poured his pain and anger into his art.

It amazes me how Ren manages in “Hi Ren” to make his ‘good side’ have a sound of power; of control - even when battling the ‘evil side’. Here the ‘good side’ is all but depleted of energy; it sounds weaker, it sounds less confident. It also shines through when looking at his working the camera; the good side is litterally on the floor about to give up and begging for mercy - hand stretched out like “pause - time out, please!”. - Also Ren makes it so obvious who’s talking by using different themes / different instrumentation depending on who’s talking. It’s communication on a professional level. What amazes me even more is that you can hear how he leaves the “angry side” to a more…”let’s talk serious for a moment” in the end, when he warns Kujo about how this is still him holding back.. Many have pointed out the grunts in the beginning being references to Sick Boi - but he’s changed them from being angry with the world and sort of hopeless frustration - to being more angry and more violent; these grunts are…like a warning; like the growls of an angry dog about to bite.

I watched Ren's release the second it aired and I love your response, too, for not only is it as energetic and enthusiastic as usual but also you've analysed so many different aspects that other reactors haven't done. Great!

Ren was gracious enough to let me have an advanced copy to ensure I could get this out timely. He's an amazing artist, and I really, really respect his work ethic!

@@TheCharismaticVoice That makes sense. Yes he is. He's an all around good guy too. I know several people that have met him and no one has ever had a negative thing to say about him or his art.

Love the support for Ren! I hope Renegades also take the time to check out the vocal research campaign and support if they can. I did, and am looking forward to looking down more singers' throats xD

This chicka is so awesome, great supporter of Ren, and the music community as a whole. Her new research is super interesting and might help with some serious problems people suffer from, depression and even disease. Love this reactor, she's so good at explaining vocal techniques. Thank you!!

Your reactions are always my favorite. You have a unique look or should I say listen with music. Shouting out other reactors, supporting Ren in what is right, your positive attitude, it's all what makes you great. Until next time wonderful person, be well.

This is so sick theres so much he draws on with this, the breathing from "sick boy" at the beginning going right into "high Ren" with reason trying to argue for the good path but being overpowered by rage and reason literally says it and then the whole thing just goes savage. Just absolutely burns it all down.
