My theory is that each of the presents Tim has opened are metaphors for the stages of life. Birth (opening a present to find himself), life (the coal represents the hardships of life), and death (finding a disembodied head of a spirit, only to kill it with a hammer). You know what, a lot of people will probably think this is the sequel to Tim Open Another Present, but I think it might be the epilogue to MarbleHornets. Months have passed since the events of MarbleHornets and Tim is still dealing with everything that happened and he's trying to forget, but his alter ego Masky is still showing up and informing Tim that he still needs to finish one thing before it's all finally over and that thing is in the box. Tim doesn't know what's in it and so that's why he keeps refusing, thinking if he lays down next to some coal he found he might just forget it. Masky steps up his game with puns that fill Tim's mind with more horrible memories till he finally gives up. All the coughing fits and seizures he suffered through gave him special powers as you could see, and he finally opens it revealing the still alive remains of Alex. He finishes him once and for all but sits down and realizes it's all over but the memories will never leave him.
