It's because the Tec-9 Is arguably more damaging. You can clear a lot more enemies with a Tec-9 over insta deleting people with the Marshal's. Tec-9 still killed fast and had more bullets and range to go with it too. Tdawg also seemed to want to focus on one weapon per game, for the sake of brevity.

BO1 was definitely the Famas, it most the most used weapon between good players and pros. Yes they buffed the recoil but the more you used it the easier it got to learn it. Most players I came across had the Famas as their most used weapon on their player card. Mine included with 40k kills which mind you that I only had 60k kills throughout BO1 lifecycle. Famas was good at almost good every range.
