There is a league called MLE (Major League Eating) where competitive eaters are ranked. MLE hold competitions around America basically and that's how eaters get ranked. Beard is 22nd at the moment but he doesn't really do the competitions anymore. Joey Chestnut is ranked #1.

I think the reason most restaurants don’t do the one hour rule is because they rather that the person leave and throw up elsewhere rather than in the restaurant. Its just a theory but that makes sense because if restaurants or cafes follow this rule a lot of the winners would have been losers
