We have a pair of Curlews at nest at our local park. Have been doing so for many years. They are fierce protectors of their chicks alright...! A ringtail possum who got a little bit too close got absolutely battered by mum and dad... blood was drawn. We also have them on campus at my local Tafe... They occasionally take a stroll into the ceramic/sculpture studio and scream like wild banshees outta hell just to scare the pants off everyone in the area. 😂😂 I love them all the same.

Love your show, mate. Just love shows about animals. Curlews up in Nth Queensland have an eerie sound. I remember coming home from work in the early hours of the morning n curlews would be screaming. I found that so scarey. I look forward to watching many more of your shows. ❤😊

If the captive birds aren’t feeding their chicks will the ones you rescue and release do it go their chicks?

It's heartbreaking to watch you take the chicks away. But with the species so critically endangered, I know it's so important that the chicks survive. I'm sure it isn't easy for you either. Torn between wanting the parents to step up because it would be best if the parents raise the chicks, and knowing how critical it is that the chicks survive.
