This bit still holds up solid all these years later. One of the top three routines I ever saw.

Thanks so much for posting this. I haven't seen it since it aired on a relatively new network called HBO. It was the funniest stand up routine I had ever seen at that time. 34 years have passed and I have been a stand up comedian for 20 of them. I can still make the same statement today.

This was so funny back in 1976 on HBO and it sure brought back memories of Tim and Freddy Prince and how funny these guys really were.

I remember this HBO Special with comedians Gary Muledeer, Elaine Boosler, Tim Thomerson, Jay Leno and Freedie Prinze! My grandfather and I were watching and we thought this was the funniest thing we ever saw on television! We were all laughing hysterically especially at this Tim Thomerson skit.

I remember this on HBO almost 45 years ago! Tragically, it was shortly before Freddie took his own troubled life.

I've only know about Tim through such cool films like "Rhinestone", "Who's Harry Crumb?", and "Uncommon Valor". NEVER KNEW he used to do stand-up! His routine had me rolling...great stuff.

Please would you or somebody tell me or post more of his stand up than whats already out there Truly one of the most underrated comedians that ever graced the microphone in many years Seen this when it first came out and he was the best one on the show,Also seen him do teenagers doing shakespere and split my vocal chords.

He reminds me of jim Carey and Robin Williams. Brilliant.

a lot of folks checking him out latley because we watched a Bill Maher/Bill Burr chat where they talk about Tim showing up back stage to one of Robin's shows and Tim punching Robin in the face, for stealing jokes. The "cathy" voice and imitation is Robin all the way. Lots of Carey here too.

He had some real talent. Probably a bit before his time. Too had he didn't resurrect during the comedy hay-day of the 80's and 90's and do something with it. He was always a bit underrated. Probably just never got the breaks (plural!) you need in show business to really make it. Plus you have to kiss A LOT of ass and network and just plain be lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. That's why some greats never make it big. And there could also be issues with drugs & alcohol.

Who'd a thunk this comic would go on to star in all 5 "Trancers" films as Jack Deth as well as countless other movie& TV appearances (usually as a damn good bad guy).
