The lack of voting rights for prisoners is insane. I don't think there's a single scenario back home aside of renouncing your citizenship you can be deprived of your voting rights. You can be a lifer and there are polling stations in prisons...

They'll vote to make crime legal, surely

It’s not that everyone who’s ever committed a crime can’t vote. It varies by state/jurisdiction, but generally you can’t vote while you’re in jail or prison. In some place your voting rights are restored when you finish your sentence, in some places your voting rights are suspended permanently if you committed a felony, and in other places your right is only permanently suspended if it was a violent felony or for only certain violent felonies (it’s all specifically defined by statute). Which is not to say any of this is acceptable! I think it’s absolutely ridiculous and the right to vote should never be suspended. The idea that criminals will somehow all band together to oppress all the law abiding citizens through voting is pretty comical. But it’s pretty far from “you can’t vote if you’ve ever committed a crime.”

30 is 300 in Austrailian times. Once you add the conversion rate into Mandarin, then subtract the Americans and multiply it by 2 Australians. That's just Maths.

As for the USA, the rabbit hole of weird laws go deep. Recent events (and rollback) on the "bump stocks" (i.e. a stock for a firearm that kinda springs, so it helps you squeeze trigger very, very fast), the minimum lengths of barrels, the maximum calibre, but that has "sporting exemptions" (for example .950 JDJ is a "sporting rifle" even though it would probably at some point in history classify as an "anti tank cannon" xD). They couldn't figure out if it's ok to have an arm brace, and then it turned out that it's ok if it's there, but the moment it touches your arm you're a felon.

The whole concealed/open carry is complicated across the world. I believe back home I am allowed to carry a sword, but it MUST be out in the open. I mean I'm not sure where I would conceal it, under my templar cape or sth? But in turn, same place, if you have firearm licence of specific type you can carry it loaded, but you MUST conceal it. TBH most of those laws across the world are made in reactionary manner: someone kills someone with a machete so we ban all big knives. Then someone uses a modified starter gun and we ban those. The UK requires id and being 18+ to buy SCISSORS.

You don't need an I'd to buy scissors in the uk
