I was a gas station lady, and I wasn't allowed to sell gas without pre-pay. It was HELL! EVERYONE yelled at me. Would not go back to that job for all the money in Texas.

I’ve used the “well, you and me are just gonna have to get married because I ain’t going nowhere” a time or two in my life, when you’re just thwarted at every turn. 😂 They always took it well and laughed because they knew the situation was ridiculous too. I try to confront pain-in-the-ass situations with humor whenever I can. Getting mad doesn’t fix much and only puts people on edge. If you can be silly and make folks chuckle, things can usually work out. 😊 I don’t always succeed in the funny approach, but I try. Plenty of practice every time I go to Home Depot, which is never anything less than a major hassle, line-waiting, wrong/unhelpful info, and walking about 11 miles just to find a particular screw or plumbing hardware.

@WelakaWombat I won't have to work in a gas station, will I? Srsly, I'll do anything except for that. The big price hikes were just happening (2005-6) when I worked there, and people were completely NUTS.

One of my collateral duties when I drove for a taxi company was taking care of the gas pumps,ordering fuel and changing the price signage.On Sept 11,2001 when rumors of a gas shortage temporarily drove prices to the unheard of price of $1.509 a gallon,I placed the new driver between me & the street just in case someone took a shot at me for the price hike.
