House Harkonnen (Suite) | Dune (2021) - Original Soundtrack by Hans Zimmer

The Harkonnen theme is unique in the soundscape of the Dune soundtrack: distancing from melodic music, the Harkonnen are characterized by distorted sounds (a two-note horn is often used during the action scenes) or a repeated rhythm consisting in three fast bits of percussions. The lack of a conventional leightmotif for the villains of the Dune movie is peculiar, as it reflects the lack of empathy, the cruelty and the ruthlessness of the Duke, prone to any action to achieve his ambitions.
This montage is an expanded mix of the video “The Attack”, featuring more variations of the Harkonnen theme from the OST and an incomplete Film Mix ripped from the movie (that tracks are “House Harkonnen” and “Sandwalk Video / Hunter-Seeker”). There are still a few short tracks from the movie I would have liked to include, but since they're not yet available, I'll go with this one so far. Probably on November I'll have to make a new version of this suite with “Dune - Part Two”!

On a real note, Hans Zimmer said in an interview that he wanted to music to be played on something that outlast any other instrument (the voice) to be his main instrument. He also said that he wanted his music to be different than normal music today because 20,000 years in the future music probably won’t be in 4/4 time signature all the time
