Robert can ride anything! A consistent, no-nonsense, relaxed, fair rider who makes being good easy and being bad hard!❤

Just another amazing video of your knowledge. So much could have gone wrong with someone else. The age theory alone shows how much you truly no. Thank you 🫶💕

You called that one just right. He has just been able to get away with being bad and obviously fed well and not having a job. That will ruin a bunch of horses. I see this a lot. A novice rider will get a horse and take good care of him. Then the horse will get fresh and be a brat. It will scare the rider because they don’t know what to do. So they send them to a horse trainer and the trainer will get the horse back in line and send it back. The horse will become a brat again because the novice rider won’t make it do right. This will result in the horse getting sent back to a trainer or sold to be someone else’s problem. If you are not a confident rider, then ride with someone who is and knows what they are doing before you go and buy a horse. Horses are dangerous as hell and you will get hurt if you don’t know what you are doing. Take this horse for example, if he took it outside right now, I guarantee you it is going to try something the first chance it gets. Put an inexperienced rider on him and it would be a bad deal. So get training from experienced people and before you buy a horse, have someone you trust look it over. This is the most I have said in about three months.

Quick question! Around 1:06 time stamp Robert taps Ryder on the shoulder with the rein and Ryder jumps a bit. Is Robert just asking that shoulder to move in? Thanks!

Robert was asking Ryder to go forward and Ryder was refusing.

Yes, horses can be unpredictable and they have bad days too

THank you, I have a horse doing much the same, I get off and lunge him but won't be doing so anymore, he does buck and get stuck just like this... I may have to send him away to someone more athletic (& younger) to get him past his temper tantrums..

dunno. I've had plenty of horses turn out who where started well after 4years old, and I am not nearly the rider Robert is. What am I doing wrong?

Does Robert make any noise when the horse is trying to buck?

Agree 100 percent. This is how I taught mine. I don't lunge. I need to go saddle and get on to work cows or gather. I don't have time to lunge. So they learn at this age to do what is expected. Love this video showing just exactly why you don't lunge forever. I see so many at competitions lunging forever. It's crazy.
